I've just used the calculator from this site >> BlackBerry Codes Reader/Calculator. My Version! - GSM-Forum << and it worked. You do not need the mep code or cables, you just need the prp code and imei no.

If you have a security code enabled, turn it off!

download the calculator >>>>> (PRD)BBCalculator_free.rar - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
then all you need is the PRD code (which can be be found on back of your phone under the battery) and the imei no.

I have a Blackberrytools_2 but the meps in the list only go up to 33006-002 and my step mom got a new blackberry whose mep (34870-001) just missed the cut. Does this program go up to 34870-001?

                Try the PRD instead...

Thought i would try and make things a little easier....

This programme can also be used with PRD code, if you dont want to spend time getting the MEP code (with some blackberrys only MEP unlocking will do). >>>>BBCalculator_free.rar - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

You can read and use the mep code without any cables>>>

How to read the MEP without Cable

First step is to access to the ***8220;Help Me***8221; menu, to do so, on the main screen of the phone hold the following keys : ALT CAPS H (at the same time)

Note: For Pearl and other Sure-type phones press and hold the ALT key (Bottom left) and type E A C E, for Storm, hold the BACK arrow, and tap the screen in the following areas: TOP LEFT, TOP RIGHT, TOP LEFT, TOP RIGHT.

Type the PIN, App Version and Uptime in the form below:
click this for key generator>>>How to read BlackBerry MEP without Cable !

Press ***8220;Get my Key***8221; and our Calculator will generate a code:

Now simply type the KEY directly on to that screen. Nothing will appear when typing. For numbers hold the ALT key when typing. Now you should be in the engineers menu - if you are not please try again ensuring the data you entered is EXACTLY as displayed. If you close the screen ensure you change the Uptime on the form. Navigate to ***8216;OS Engineering Screens***8216; as shown below:

Now scroll down to ***8216;Device Info***8217; and then scroll down until you see MEP-XXXXX-XXX***8217; as shown below:

                  then you get your mep....

                  then use >>>>> BBCalculator_free.rar - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

The above programme can also be used to unlock Blackberry using PRD code, which can be found at the back of your phone behind the battery.

Thanks to Jim Mahoney for the original post and continued support.

all mine get done by prd i have the mep for every prd in use.

if you have to pull the mep its always best to use the cable as some new medels like 9900 do not have the mep on show via os engineering. and before anyone says anything. all blackberrys will show via cable. if not you're doing it wrong.

                      100% Rayjay!

The biggest issue is people ignoring the BlackBerry display and placing the handset into Mass Memory mode!

That will depend on how new the phone is.

If you fail to find the MEP code in the supported list. Try using the PRD from under the battery.

Put a SIM card in it (the same network as what you take out) & see if you can make calls.

If you can call out it's not blocked.

Before you ask. No it's not possible to unblock a Blackberry

I've used the above tool but when I use the PRD code, it says "Not Found! Try using MEP".. I try that also but it says MEP code not found or supported.. Any ways to deal with this?
