Know nothing about Blackberrys so bear with me. Ive just been given, what im told is a Blackberry Curve 9300, Its locked into 3 currently and i need it to allow my vodafone sim, i got the IMEI but dont have an MEP code,ive seen some in this thread and wondered if i could just use any that i see for same model or is there a specific way to unlock individual phones??? (Like i said i know nothin about these phones

Download the tool (in this thread) and connect via USB (having preloaded the drivers via installing BB Desktop Manager) and read the MEP and follow the instructions...Comment

Sorry, just a real fast question - I'm going to try and unlock a bold 9000 (old phone, I know!) but I am guessing, using this program - it will support it.
My question really is once it's unlocked, would it stay unlocked if I upgrade the OS, or is it like the iPhone where its just a tethered unlock. I have always used iPhones so please excuse my noobness!
