I've not had any problems unlocking E122 via code. You might need to use a unbranded dashboard to input the unlock code (see 1st post in this thread) and in any case I'm sure the "3" dashboard is pretty bad if it's anything like the stuff used by 3-UK.

In the unlikely case that the unlock code didn't work, DC-Unlocker has a server that will unlock almost any GSM modem. Cost is 15 Euro. So you just need to work out if you will still save money should, in the worst case scenario you need to pay for it to be unlocked!

The Windows-based unlocker software may add another level of complexity. I have a Linux system and use XP via VirtualBox when the need calls for it.

I can plug a USB device in and have XP see it via VirtualBox. The question I have is, has anyone tried unlocking this way?

Thanks for the code. I installed my modem and installed its software on the laptop. and after that plugged a different sim and plugged in. But it doesnt ask me any kind of unlock code. Is there anything I am missing. Thanks.
