I would just like to thank all you kind hearted people for going out your way to help point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

People say sly as some sites you were not allowed to mention sky or UK channels at all. It was to keep everyone safe who contributes to sites but people don't seem so concerned now?

Moto dish a lot more complicated although not too bad. Plenty tutorials on how to set them up.
      Hi

Thats the way I do it now if im fitting one for family or friends although I try to get out of it, when youve fitted one or two it becomes easier and no need for meter etc. you have an idea.

Motor dish no need for me to put one up have trouble watching the tv that I have got .

dishpointer.com is also a guide site to use to get a rough direction to point the dish.

The best way is to get an extension lead set you tv and sat box up so you can see it up the ladder. You can really get your tweak on then!

It sounds like the Openbox S9 or S10 is going to be the most simple box for me to set up.anyone know what the difference is between the two boxes and which one would be the best buy?

          Thanks

            Hi

As far as I know the spec is same with some minor addittions to the menu. Main diiference is the size between the two units and price wise not much difference.

The S10 is the upgrade to the S9 so really you have to go for the newer s10 model.

Wouldn't say you have to go for the 10. The 9 would do fine for hiss needs really. Depends on how hip and cool he wants to be but if you want to spend the least amount of money and get same results then by then buy the openbox 9.

s10 has only hdmi outputs , no outputs for sound to an amp , and no scart , the s9 has all 3 connections , although the s10 is much prettier and guess support will be aimed more at the later model than the older one ,

if scart is important get the 9 , if its for use to a hdmi panel only, get the 10 , if you wanna research them a bit more , we have a openbox forum here too

                Openbox

pics here if you wanna compare size

                        Hi Guys
So really for simplicity you guys would recommend the Openbox S9 and a dish size of about 80cm to 100cm to pick up the sly channels is that correct?

                        Thanks

Just need a mini dish for UK sky. 1 metre is overkill!

If its any help ive a standard motorised 1 metre set up with a twin Lnb.One line comes in my bedroom, the other the lounge.
Ive a box in both rooms but only the lounge box will move the dish and obviously you can only watch the same sat on both boxes,
As for cline you will need to google it or google card sharing.
We can only say so much on this forum mate.

                                Andy,
