    dont panic............................
If youre sharing to a few, then its fine. if youre running a proper server with a lot of clients then it looks like youre going to get glitching. From what ive read, theyre doing a surf lock type thing, where the card cant handle more than 3 or 4 ecm requests without freezing, so if youre using local cards then youre going to need a bucket load of cards to cover all channels which makes cardsharing economically un-viable. However if get an organised cache of ecms from different servers (peers). Then it should reduce glitching/stop it all together.

Might not be correct, but from how things are looking at the min it does make sense.

have the sv and krypts gone down permanently? i don't think that is going to bump up the ecm like they have.

will have to wait and see what all the fuss is about

I see where you're coming from but it hasn't been that effective so far.. couple of peeps reporting 3x or 4x times higher, so in theory 3x 4x times the cards.. not that unecominoical for big ass servers that they need to do something about..

Some people enjoy trying to find out HOW/WHY it works. Personally I'd much rather be buried in code or discussions being intellectially stimulated (*sometimes) rather than being subjected to almost constant advertising, endless repeats and reality tv [where's the fun in that?] but each to their own I guess..

Thats true, although you dont really miss something till you dont have it.

But agreed. I only watch the football, and even thats only when Celtic are playing.

Other wise my kids control the tv.

over the weekend for the first time in almost a couple of years i was getting freezing on my sly card, freezing which lasted about 30/35 seconds which is 60 times longer than what i normally experience over my local network..

i only ever watched sly sports HD over the weekend however and didnt think much of it as i thought it was the router being overloaded and the network slowing (my bedroom stb passes through 3x 100mbp/s switches before it reaches the card) but now im thinking maybe it was something more sinister....

if streams are now good enough , footie in sd again wont be much of a loss to me either although chances are if sly broadcast a game, that game is also being braodcasted by many other providers in HD aswell so no real loss

Problem is if sly pairs cards to their box and the worst happens, all all other providers do the same, the streams die too.

Well I have a thomson box, contact Sly the other month looking for an upgrade because I dont get any of the new stuff such as on demand and epg.

They wanted over 200 euro for a new box! (Irish Sly)

I guess its going to be a while before they come after those of us with Thomson boxes for card pairing if they wont give me a free box now.

Guess ill hang on to it for a while longer!

I also see that the pairing is only for new boxes, are they really about to ask millions of existing customers to contact them to pair identifications and card ids? I can see a huge problem if thats the idea ahead.

It will take years very literally for every EPL provider to change to these new systems, and by this time who knows what may be happening in the sat world.... you need to remember there are channels in the US, asia, australia, middle east which also broadcast epl so as far as streams go they are likely to last longer but the variety of matches will drop significantly?

true but also the people that do not wand to pay 80 quid a month for a bit off footy and the odd movie the way to stop pay servers is for sly to drop the price and for them to have some real competition this will only happen as iptv gets bigger and you just pay for what you want
