Could one of you guys figure out, if ibox 2 is able to decode mms streams? DM800 clone (sim201) failed.

You can easy try, by open tsmedia, iptv, m3u and find mms stream.

This is what mfaraj57 from dreamoem-board told me:
"openpli 4 on dm800se is able to play mms stream,but not possible on dm800 also other images ,i think this related to drivers
i do not know about xp1000 but expected the drivers not able to deal with mms format"

I`m thinking of buying an ibox 2 and would also like to know if it can play mms streams. Anybody tried it yet?

This information from openatv is pointing at BCM7358 chip in octagon SF8 receiver, but possible might also fit to BCM7358 chip in Ibox 2:
"For the SF8 there are floating manipulated bootloaders around which sets the BCM7358 CPU on 751Mhz.
The CPU is not overclocked as actually the BCM7358 chip is a 751Mhz.
Broadcom cannot guarantee it will run good on 751Mhz and reduced it to 500Mhz, however Broadcom update the info for the BCM7358 a short while ago and do now guarantee up to 600Mhz.
We strongly advice not to use the 751Mhz bootloaders as it’s not guarantee by Broadcom and test confirms that the CPU gets hotter."

Finally after lots of messing around and lots of versions installed and uninstalled I have it working both BBC iPlayer and ITV Player are working as they should.

It's stuff like this that makes the boxes so interesting.

I'm running on the supplied Open Pli version that comes with the box

Does on demand have rte and if yes does it work?

has anyone managed to get a hard drive or a usb drive set up on the openpli image i have tried both but can`t get them to work

Just set up box same as cloud1 with peloaded image/ downloaded latest 4.6 T-media all works perfect much faster /no re-booting can,t be happier with box.THE ONLY DOWN SIDE STATES 2 USB PORTS ON BOX MINE HAS 1=ALSO SMARTCARD HOLDER IS NOT IN-LINE INSIDE BOX SO I RATE 8 out 10,ALSO ANSWER TO LAST POST I used hard-drive in system setup no problem with 64gb flash/don't change anything in recording paths.Hope this helps.

I just plug and played my hard drive from my cloud 1 didn't need to set anything up it instantly installed

Yes it does have RTE. I've just checked it does work but a few of the items I tried didn't load i'm guessing a stream error as other worked no problem at all

Hi m8 did you update the tsmedia on the box or did you manually add it to the image ?

I do not understand is why they advertise that they have the card reader and then lie. I talked to Lily and says it's because mine is a sample, if I buy more will have card reader ..... this sounds like tall tale .....


I'm delighted with it, for now the tests have gone well. I've put a usb hub and I have connected a hard drive, a Freeview tuner and usb wifi, all working perfectly.

The black plastic part on the right side of the picture seems to be an integrated cardreader, but does not fit to the card slot. To be able to insert a smartcard into cardreader, the black part should have been placed more to the right side. Construction fault?

My two boxes arrived today. The box is capable to play mms-streams. I just tried this out inside tsmedia.
