According to Airsat, the first batch had a DDR problem, they offered to send some chips when I ordered the new "fixed" boxes. The new ones have a card reader and a nut holding the F Socket to the case.

Hi, mine has card reader and nut holding F socket, and it goes blank, you mean its a DDR problem, they are stuck on the board, how can they be replaced by normal person ?

That's why I didn't take any, I don't have the facilities to change them, you need professional tools.

The first batch of boxes I got from airsat did not have a card reader or the nut and 50% crashed within 1 Hour. I sent most of the main boards back for exchange, only keeping the ones that stayed on through a 12 Hour test. The new batch with card reader and the nut so far have been 100% good, I've tested with both OpenPLi and OpenViX images.

Has anyone tried disconnecting the card reader.??

Is you epg set to hard drive or internal flash??

just goes blank its random can happen after few mins to last few hours, happens more when downloading epg, i disconnected card reader, tried different images , tried 2amp psu , i can say box is faulty with confidence been told also by supplier its the ddr chip , as i had another ibox 2 to test which it doesn't happen to and had that running for 3 days now, with 3amp psu, card reader attached, same image i store epg on flash and works fine, so i know its noting to do with image or memory used

yup gonna get bombarded. least the motherboard is light and small, wonder people on ebay seem to have alot in stock, they gonna get alot of hassle

yep looks like the fault my box is experiencing is definitely a DDR problem. I purchased from a seller on aliexpress but only purchased one unit for myself. The issue I have here is its quite expensive to ship one unit back.

anyone got a good image for this as it seems to have some trouble with the hd channels using atv image i think its also a clone that i bought of ebay

there is a backup image of openpli on this forum it is working good

anyone having problems flashing new image? tried putting vix on usb but PLI still loads. Last port of call before box goes back black screen for me also.

Now that Octagon have put the price of their SF8s (new XP1000 updated box) down to ?119. I can't really see why anyone would want a largely unsupported and poorer build clone. Why not have this original box and have the advantages of being fully supported by VIX etc. and being able to do full updates?

Because most of these lot operate shoddy ser###s and buy in bulk so they want to squeeze every penny they can out of those fools they palm them off to.
