You seem to do alot more that just moderate on that forum .
You are a propaganda machine for WOS and its catalogue of products on numerous other forums whilst also doing your best to knock or discredit competing products.Comment

The only receivers I ever speak out against are the illegal, counterfeit and frankly dangerous clones touted by many people who sell them in the hundreds to unsuspecting users. As for my role on WoS again I am nothing more than a moderator on a forum.

My LX3 is a great receiver and I ham very happy with it but the only thing that concerns me is that the plug in tuners run rather hot
my Duo2 tuners on the other hand run cool compared to the LX3
I have considered fitting an extra fan next to the tuners on the LX3 as their is just enough room to fit a 40mm fan next to the tuners but the fan connector is only a 2 pin and looks like a none standard fit compared to normal PC fans, but the power outlet for the Hard Drive is a standard 4 pin molex connector and I was wondering if it would be safe to connect one to that using a splitter cable (I have a few spare for the PC) I do not want to risk overloading the power supply but I think it might work
here are a few pics showing what I mean

I forgot to mention that the standard fan shown is a 50mm so a 40mm will be a better fit in the space next to the tunersLast edited by nsw9154; 21 July, 2014, 14:31.Comment

The LX3 as been Rock Solid using Vix Apollo 24 but I upgraded to Apollo25 and it was so unstable with spinning vix signs every time I pressed a button on the remote I went back to 24
but it seems like the problems have been fixed today with Apollo 26 all running sweet again
it is one Excellent Receiver and probably better than my Duo2 but a lot cheaperComment

I bought one of these units about 2 months ago and installed VIX on it and it ran fine much better than the DUO2 it replaced which basically died on the initial scan of channels and considering the price difference this box absolutely wipes the floor with what I received. I would say the VU+ absolutely flew at booting up and really did get to picture much faster than the Xpeed but this box is rock stable on Egami 6.X and you cannot fault the price. I came from a very lowly Amiko Alien which is not even worth propping open a door especially if like me you want to use the thing to record things or to watch something on say a laptop because the missus has put her foot down LOL.
Absolutely brilliant piece of kit that I genuinely cannot fault even the RC is not as bad as people make out...Comment

Since my last post I have fitted a Zalman NS2000 laptop cooler underneath it as I was worried about the temps, because it was sat on top of my Tivo box the temps where about 45c now it's running at 30c and the Zalman is really quiet with it's 20cm variable fan, I am also now running Openvix Apollo 095 with 2 DVB-C/2T tuners and it is still Rock Solid I just love this receiverComment

Their is no fan control on the LX3 it is either ON/OFF or on Auto I have the fan set to on so it's running all the time, the temps are not that bad it's just that the only place that I have to fit it is on top of my Tivo box and that adds extra heat but for the sake of ?25 the Zalman keeps it nice and coolComment

I also have the Mutant HD2400 and it is an Excellent receiver with it's separate 4 plug in tuners very versatile, I bought mine from World of Sat and noticed that they do not list the LX3 any more, hopefully it might just be out of stock as it is a very good receiver as wellComment
