As its happening to 2 USB devices try formatting the drives via the front USB and ensure he's using the correct menu commands

Menu-setup-system-storage devices-Initialisation, Select your drive and format it

Yes mate he just sent me a video showing exactly that procedure, it gets to 99/100 hangs and then gets the timeout error

Gunna try Reflash, deffo nowt wrong with your image , it's spot on , the best I've used that's why recommended it

Having searched the Internet for oserror errno 30 is seems it's an IO error on the hard drive and the Linux kernel makes the drive 'read only' to protect the drive from further damage, sounds like the hard drive is on the way out

edit: Defo try another reflash, just in case something got corrupted in the fstab files

1. Menu-setup-service searching-autobouquetsmaker-configure
Include 'not indexed' channels change to 'No'
2. Menu-setup-service searching-autobouquetsmaker-providers
$ky ROI:area to 'ROI Custom'
$ky ROI:Generate Main Bouquet to 'Yes'
$ky ROI:Generate Section Bouquets to 'Yes'
3. Menu-setup-service searching-autobouquetsmaker-Hide Section
Tick/Untick $ky ROI bouquets you want to hide/see
4. Menu-setup-service searching-autobouquetsmaker-scan

Exit out of the menus and press 'Fav' you will see 2 sets of bouquets the first set starting with 'all channels' will be your UK bouquets and then scroll down to your second lot, this will be your ROI bouquets starting with the second 'all channels'

It may seem to have the same hardware as in the listed specs ie BCM 751 CPU but has it got the same Tuners or Nic Card, if it hasn't then the image won't work due to a lack of drivers.

What you could do is a google search for a backup image for your box.

OK cheers. The box is called a Solo Pro V3 but the images for it are called Herobox, inside the info says it is a Herobox, but the tag outside says different.

The Solo Pro v3 is a clone box of the vu+ unfortunately it's not very well supported, due to the forum rules on similar content forum links, I'll pm you a link to a vu+ clone forum.
