Use the link to download the latest firmware todate 8th Aug 2010 get a usb pen drive format it fat32 loaded the HDS2_DUMP.abs onto it. place in the box at the back via the usb port.go into the menu and update the firmware via usb. this will give you the latest firmware and a good freind Breed has dun us all a favour and sorted the channels into favourites and removed the tiresome channels that can cause us a bit of problem. if you use your own channels some sky sports channels cause a reboot loop. the quickest way to fix is pull the sat wire out reboot change channel then remove it from your fav's. pick another sky sports channels as there are normally doubles of every sky sports channels.

also can anyone give a reason for the restart.... why do those channels cause the box to enter the restart loop?

Yes they are and no I dont know why it happens on some channels.

Yes only on the sky sports channels a real pain. but they will fix it probubly in the next firmware upgrade.

I am thinking of buying a openbox S9 HD suposed to be the same as the Soloman there is on called the Skybox same again - I am worried that like the old Dream Box 500S it will only pick up just the strong signals - has anyone else had this sort of problem with the Soloman? I would appreciate any other warnings - I know they are cheap and I dont expect miracles but if it cant pick up my favorite stations it will be no use to me.

WE have 12 of these solomend/openbox now working really good.they work very well saying they are a very cheap box to buy. We have put all the working channels into the fav's and if you dont go messing about the boxes work without a problem. very good quality tuner works well will low signal satellites.

also is it possible to use a booster to on a sat with a weak signal?

and does using a quad lnb with more than one connection used weaken the signal?

Why would you need a booster they have very sensetive receivers work real well on most dishes no glitching.
here is a couple of pree done images for the granada area and scotland. unzip them first just copy the image to a usb stick. put it in the back and update from the menu. rename the fav1 to 7 Entertainment. Movies, HD channels Documentries Kids Music and Sports.

openbox s9 no joy on sly

I bought 2 openboxes and both have same problem. When i changed the sly sports 1,2,3,4 +HD channel which was scanned 4 time in my tv list. when i click the channel it goes to reboot.
i read the threads regarding this issue . i am a bit lazy . Looking for a easy solution.
Even if sombody have a clean sly uk backup .

i'm having trouble uploading cccam.cfg through usb.

does not read any new accounts whne i update... why doesn't the box allow me to type in the full server name manually.... the field only allows certain number of chars.... which is ridiculous.

i think i might have to try a differant usb stick
