Yip same here, Although I have loaded it and it seems ok. The other puzzling part is when I checked to see if it were a clone or not I had to press 8888 which according to posts is what you have to press for the S10 and 7777 for the S9. So has my box now been somehow changed to S10 and if so what is the difference between an S10 and S9 apart from the obvious box cosmetics ie is the software/firmware different?

My first post since purchasing an S9 so my apologies

Sound Problems with Open Box 10

Hi, Newbie here!

I purchased an openbox 10 and set it up with ccam and its running ok but the sound is running a bit behind, which is a bit annoying!

Does the new Firmware update fix this problem? I believe its currently running on 07/11 firmware.

mine is currently running version 30-06-11. From what i gather, the latest FW sorts this issue.. im currently trying to update mine but keep getting failed msg!

can anyone enlighten me if the FW dated 240811 is better than the one dated in sept? it seems when i loaded the 240811 it had a different image?

obviously it's the latest FW n all that but what are the improvements?

Hi, I just installed the s10 openbox version. I can record to the USB drive, But I cannot find anyway to play it back, if I open the media player --- it does not see any files. I can play them on my PC when it is connected alight. Any ideas?

while in the PVR playback have you used the 1 key on the RC to toggle between the different types of playback etc?

New software Europe version dated 02/09/2011 for Sky/openbox S9 and S10

Software is interchangeable so it can be used both for skybox and openbox. Openbox and Skybox receiver both can be upgraded by this software.



Notice :-
S9 software can be used for both S9 and S10
S10 software is only for S10


Regrading the new software dated August 15th 2011, its main improvements are the following:

1.modified DiSEqC1.2 motor bugs.
2.add 95E satellite IPM (NSS6) patch agian .
3.modified CCCAM multi accounts connect servers bugs.
4.modified some CA smartcards EMM Autoupdate.
5.modified Thailand language EPG!
6. upgrade reading card and authorizing EMM
7. Improve the rebooting problem when several accounts login
8. Improve the rebooting problem when quickly changing channels
9. Upgrading the decoder supports the functions of the multimedia playing
10. Optimize the noise problem of AV output
11. Optimize the problem which USB recognizes bigger than 500GB hard disk

This firmware is not safe for clone boxes. If you don***8217;t know that your box is original or clone please check her

If you want to keep all your different settings and current firmware then you need to dump on a USB flash disk

The first thing to do is save the downloaded firmware file on the root of a USB flash disk,

Plug USB disk to the back of your receiver. It will be recognized by the receiver.

1. Before upgrade, do a Factory Reset:

* Go to TOOLS menu and click on Factory Settings
* Click Yes to continue. The receiver will go to factory default and restart.

2. Upgrade Firmware:

* Click on MENU and go to TOOLS menu again
* Scroll down to "Upgrade by USB"
* Click on START
* Choose Image File[*.abs]
* After the loading is completed, Accept the upgrade.
* The receiver will restart.

3. After upgrade, do another Factory Reset:
This software will be replaced and updated as soon there is a new version.

openbox s9 rar file says its s10 when you unrar it

This firmware is old hat now as its been out for some weeks.

I tried it in my S10 but had a problem with standby.

Standby did not switch off box although box screen went blank.

Picture and sound carried on, on the TV. I had to switch off at the rear. Clock vanished. To reboot switch on power
at back.

Scrubbed this upgrade and reverted to a May one and all is
back to normal.

I have done the same thing to overcome the portable HDD always on problem that I have posted here. If I use any firmware after this May version the problem returns. Common sense says that these two problems are related.

Do we have a can of worms here?

wondering whats the lastest firmware i see this in downloads section september firmware 14/09/11 (1.66 MB)

and on this page its ONPENBOX_S10_02_09_11.RAR

which shall i go for ?

Hi, after doing a check on my openbox s10, said its a 085B chip which is genuine, so did a update with the ONPENBOX_S10_02_09_11.RAR, worked fine, but when rebooting came up saying your box is a clone , now its stuck just saying on on front of box ?
