        openbox S10 bought today.

        I bought an openbox s10 from china. Today it was delivered to me. The installed firmware version is C2HS2-11-07-14:0651CM and the chip is is 0D7E. This is not in your list. Does this necessarily mean that it's a clone? I mean it has a very late firmware. What's the conclusion that i must come to?
        Thnx in advance.
        Im totally new to receivers

          Hello,

          I'm in the US and all the US FW releases have the networking disabled (removed in fact).

          I'm looking for a FW with networking and the 3 column channel list for the S9. All I can find is the US with no networking and an S10 that has the menus disabled when used on the S9.

          Is there a FW that has both for the S9?

              The first thing to do is save the downloaded firmware file on the root of a USB flash disk,

              Plug USB disk to the back of your receiver. It will be recognized by the receiver.

              1. Before upgrade, do a Factory Reset:

              * Go to TOOLS menu and click on Factory Settings
              * Click Yes to continue. The receiver will go to factory default and restart.

              2. Upgrade Firmware:

              * Click on MENU and go to TOOLS menu again
              * Scroll down to "Upgrade by USB"
              * Click on START
              * Choose Image File[*.abs]
              * After the loading is completed, Accept the upgrade.
              * The receiver will restart.

              3. After upgrade, do another Factory Reset:
              This software will be replaced and updated as soon there is a new version.

                "Official" Openbox firmware

                I'm confused by the many firmware upgrades. What is the latest "official" Openbox firmware? I upgraded in May - didn't seem to do much except make EPG and lip synch worse. Upgrade to Skybox firmware messed up PVR so Icouldn't see stuff recorded with previous firmware - is there a workround for this? What is the "best" firmware to handle known issues (e.g. poor lip synch, audio crackle, EPG disappearing)?

                    Does these firmware files work on clones? Can't seem to get an answer in my thread. Not that experienced with Openboxes and want more than 8 favourites.

                      It is not safe to upgrade clone boxes with this software To check if your box is clone or original check this tread. You can also try to upgrade with new software but if a massage telling you that your box is clone apears, upload old firmware again before rebooting max 10 times

                        I know the box is a clone, I had to reflash via null modem cable. Is there any other way round getting more than 8 favourites?

                              Why do we need to do another factory reset in the final step?

                                Does it work, or we'll have to wait a new firmware ?
