There's no dump or update firmware via usb menu on my S9 so I decided to update the firm ware via null modem cable. I got this message :
    "synchonizining STBs
    please reset target!!"

I'm using right null modem cable. Any help would be appreciated

Will using a "USB 2.0 to RS232 Serial DB9 9 Pin Female Adapter Cable"

Do the same job? As I have no RS232 connection on my laptop so will have to be USB.

the loader gives you minutes to turn the receiver on.
some people turn it on too fast

for dead receivers you must use loader v2.0.0c,the version where you select the file to upload on the 1st screen.
This will fix receivers that even have a blank flash.
If that doesn't work you are using the wrong cable or have a hardware problem. The receiver will have a blank display and never say boot all the time after multiple power cycles.

    hi
i have read all 15 pages here but didn't get clear answer...
i have an openbox s11 which shows "boot" all the time when powered on. I've tried few different upgrade tools via rs232 (im using the "real" com-port) but all i got is the message - "com test error" or "set stb memory error"
have tried different timing powering on the box still no luck..
Is any good working tool for s11 because with one tool i got com error with another stb memory error, with one i even had "raw file error".
    need your help guys!!
