Thank you... but what did you write on? Directly wrote .bin files?

i used openbox firmware the bin file as u said but as i said it was ages ago...hope you have had luck..

Is there any fix for this. my Open-box V5s has gone dead, but there is a Dim Red light on the front display. i have downloaded every software to Bring the box alive using the null cable but no joy. i don't know if it a hardware problem on the motherboard, maybe a component might need changing but don't know????

are you useing a proper 232 cable mate or usb one ....................Paul

After downloading the new channel list from AJ, and uploading via the Tool, the box has stopped loading. It just quickly flashes the word 'Load' on the box then restarts again. I tried using the RS232 cable with the tools mentioned in the thread but still nothing. I always get a STB memory error. Is there a fix for this?

I have Skybox F5 I updated it using usb when the update finished the box restart it self and it load to 97 and stops I left it like this for about 20 minutes nothing happen than unplugged it from the main and plug it on the same happen it loads to 97 and stops on 97 it just stock on 97 .

I tried the above using a usb to serial on a laptop it loads the firmware to the box but what happen now is the box will load to 97 and start again and again I tried different firmware versions and different upgrade tools the result always the same any help please .

The same thing happened to my clone F5. It was due to trying to flash it with genuine firmware.

When I used the latest firmware from HDDVBSW,COM it flashed OK.

Thank you for the speedy reply I have flashed it with firmware from the above website but the box loads to 97 and just stops there .

I think at could be a hardware problem anyone have other ideas .

hello, I managed to get dead skybox f5s loaded, it now says noch, its for my neighbour and he had all the portuguese channels on the box before it died, has anybody got a link for how to load a channel list for these channels. I have only delt with the sky channels before, this is new to me. Thanks in advance.
