Recover Dead Skybox/Openbox Flash Using Serial RS232 Null modem Cable

My openbox s10 failed to boot. (the openbox s10 display panel - "boot" and then blank).

Im getting this l097 hanging problem after a firmware upgrade on my skybox f3 ive tried flashing it many times with various firmwares with my null modem cable but cannot get it to work it just boots gets to l097 and then back to loading again! any ideas?

Hello everyone and congratulations x an excellent forum.
Given that I read all the posts related to the resuscitation of this skybox rs232 m3 and I carefully followed the advice. I even opened the decoder and the cooler under the initials of the chip is SIGNED ALI M36018. I think maybe I should look for the right config x eromupgrade.

I have same problem.
I have two dead open box s11
My serial cable and loader program work very well with first open box s11 and box get live back.
But second open box s11 not responding with Com port.
i tried many times by difference com port and with power supply of first open box to be sure about power supply, but not yet lucky
any help and information welcome .

ok big big slugworth now works .. the problem was in the emulated serial usb-com. in practice using an older PC with built-in serial risen the skybox m3 and I'm happy for that.
I used eromupgrade with SKYBOX_3601HD_CMT_12092004D1.abs everything is broken down to the great .. Thanks to all and at Slugworth

Just wanted to add, may be helpful....

My Skybox F3 got stuck in a loop on boot up whilst I was trying to update the channels from AJ's post so tried t update the firmware using the first post of this but kept getting the 'stb memory error' when using the eeprom in the package for download in the OP so had a look around the forum and found this post:

and that software worked a treat!

One point though, I found that if I tried to install newer firmware the box just stayed dead so went back to my original firmware and it was golden.
