Is this while the $ly+ box is switched on in the living room? If not, the $ly+ box needs to be turned on.

Sorry yes Yupyaa I should have made that clear in my post.

Assuming Sky+ box was on then both channels either FTA or $ are of the same quality (on that transponder anyhow) which is how I was hoping it would be.

If Sky wasn't on, could you try again please.

I know it's a pain but it's a case of trying to narrow down what is the reason.

both channels work with signal intensity 90 and signal quality 74. im giving up on this ha because it looks lik all the channels will never work when both boxes are runnin

Well that's strange. Why were your $ channels showing no signal, when in this particular case $ly Living +1 is being received with normal signal strength?

If I were you I would still try one of the "no signal fixes" from Ebay.

            hi there!
i did the mod (just did not add capacitor)and now i can have both boxes (skyhd original and skybox f5s)connected to my 8 way lnb using 3 separate cables of course
BUT now as long as my original box is on standby f5s works perfectly on all channels,if i turn on my original box i still lose for example LFCTV!!! ,if i select LFCTV on my original box
both boxes will now get all channels again!!! how can this be right? i have a half fix now,as i don't need to disconnect cable for f5s to work properly sort of!!!
is it because i have not fitted capacitor?(not sure what way round it goes as it has a + and - side)
            thanks

I'm a bit confused by your post.

You say that both boxes now get all channels again, but then say that you loose LFCTV as an example (so do you still loose more than just LFCTV?). And which box do you loose LFCTV on? Are you saying that you loose it on the F5s, but only when your original box is also tuned to LFCTV?

I have edited my post concerning the capacitor. It's not needed. Even if it was needed 100nF capacitors are not polarised. They don't have + & - sides. (perhaps you were thinking of 100uF?).

                hi there!
thanks for quick reply, i lose the channels LFCTV,EXTREME SPORTS,TRACE SPORTS,BBC 1 HD,BBC 2 HD, ITV HD,and others on my f5s box,as soon as i turn on my original skyhd+ box and select say skysports 1 HD, my original box never loses any channels . ,And on the capacitor i was indeed asuming it was 100uF my bad for that.
Also to add ,now i cant just turn off my original skyhd+ box ,to get channels back on my f5s,i have to still disconect the sat feed cable again!!! OR unplug mains on sky original box!! OR i have to make sure i turn the original box to bbc2 hd before standby!
thanks for trying to help me,looks like an incompatible LNB Problem i guess, any ideas on a good 4 or 8 way replacement LNB?

i have just resoldered another diode in case it was a faulty diode BUT all that i have said in this post is still the same!!

                  Hmm..strange problem.

LFCTV, extreme sports & trace sports are all on horizontal channels, so it looks like it might be down to something that the "diode fix" cannot fix (as that only fixes problems with vertical channels).

btw...what diode did you use (and was it connected the right way round with the band on the diode at the LNB end?).

i used diode from link supplied in earlier reply on this thread and yes connected right way also did another new diode just in case.
it has got to be a polarize fault though? ,as i said before if i put my original box onto bbc2 hd i get all channels back on f5s box!
has anyone else got this problem? by the way my original skyhd box is a samsung model R008.063.74.00P
also BBC2 HD is a vertical channel , so i am losing some horizontal and some vertical !!!
                    Thanks
