You can get a sat tuner or a cable tuner. You will need a receiver that has plug and play tuners , some of these are vu+ ultimo, uno and duo2. Gigablue quad and some of the dream box range. The uno is only single slot so it is either cable or sat whereas the others I've named have multiple slots so can have sat and cable tuner installed at same time. That's as big a clue as I can give you.

I still have a Blade Combo box the sat side worked great, but I could never get the Cable side of it to work so i was thinking of selling it, as I recently upgraded to a Solo2 and love it
but all this talk of the sat channels going the way of the old cable boxes was the reason I bought the Blade
but now that cable is back in the limelight, and seeing that I have a Tivo Box with a XL subscription, And the HD Channels that have gone off my Solo2 are still working on my Tivo box
would my Virgin card run in say a VU+Duo 2 or Gigablue Quad if I was to fit cable tuner's as i have never given that option a thought
or will I just have to put up with my Tivo (i hate the remote control) and use my Solo2 as a free sat boxLast edited by nsw9154; 13 May, 2014, 20:01.Comment

hi, yes you can buy dvb c tuner for the duo 2 , even get 2 cable tuners, for recording once channel while watching another, same for gigablue quad, i be interested in sat tuner and cable tuner together, which you can do but would manually need to move the channels in bouquets,I still have a Blade Combo box the sat side worked great, but I could never get the Cable side of it to work so i was thinking of selling it, as I recently upgraded to a Solo2 and love it

from what i have read its not like the sat side where you use the boxkey its much more involved you would need considerable skills which not many of us possess i certainly don't, but the solo2 is still a great box and remember there is loads more than s** out there which is why everybody is recommending a motorised dish setup to maximise the ammount of channels you can getComment

As far as i am aware you can get USB tuners for solo2, I'm sure someone will confirm. I know you can get usb sat tuners so must be able to get usb cable tuners also? This will save you buying the duo2 or spending more money.I still have a Blade Combo box the sat side worked great, but I could never get the Cable side of it to work so i was thinking of selling it, as I recently upgraded to a Solo2 and love it
