hi guys.... i have a dreambox 500s clone and yesterday i tried to flash it with an img but it stuck and then i unplugged it..... since then it cannot communicate with dream up(either serial cable or ethernet). can i fix it with jtag?

i've just soldered on my cable. do i use both the zip files in that order?

I went right throught this thread and I am still unable to revive my dm500s. I can jtag without problems, however after that, the box just appears dead. dreamup does not detect that the box even exist. I tried using the mac generator to get the blimg file which uploaded fine. But still no other activity on the box. The tuner in this box is phillips, at least that is what is marked on it, does anyone have a working bling file fom dm500s with phillips tuner? I would appreciate your help.

Just to add to this, no lights are on either after flash.

Also struggling with 500s clone. 'Dreamflash for windows v0.1' constantly gives errors.

Apparently "ERROR: register test failed" means i turned the Dbox on too soon after clicking connect and..

"Error: communication with LPT/JTAG" means I turned it on too late.

JtagDM500.exe in dos just gives register check errors.

Have played the timing game like 50 times now, hoping to find a better tool.

Have to wait my 15 mins to try the tools in this thread.

Meh just the usual tools.

Anyone seen the error in 'Dreamflash for windows v0.1' "ERROR: insn/reg2 test failed"?

Flashed bootloader and MAC from bottom of the box using Jtagdm500AIO which went fine.

Green power light was now lit again.

Serial was still knackered (tried DreamUP_1_3_2_1 upwards). Dead serial was why i tried to flash over ftp which was what caused the problem in the first place so box > bin.

Anyways, people needing to re-write bootloader without trying 50 times, search Jtagdm500AIO
