I f your thinking of buying one of these, I would never leave it unattended, even with a new fan installed, but that's just me!

As I read in german forums and experienced also myself, the box freezes after 30-60 minutes randomly IF you disconnect the card reader. So I just connected it back and now it is running flawlessly!! Looks ugly with the cables out of the box but at least it works fine and does not overheat

I have tried many images with the same problem.Fan included. Only as soon as I connected the card reader again, did the problem magically disappear and now it is rock stable. Running with OpenPLi 3.0 and ............. now..Last edited by digicon; 6 June, 2013, 12:43.Comment

Just received my cloud ibox today from a chinese supplier for $95 with fedex postage.
This one had come with pre-installed fan and the box is running ok so far no problems.
I have installed the latest official vix image from their website and it is running great no problems, no freezing etc.
Have had it running with this image everything set up and working fine for the past 8 hours. Hopefully no problems do occur in the future.
Just thought Id let people know to try this image out and see how it works for them

Got this one myself: Cloud Ibox vu+solo Latest Openbox S6000HD satellite receiver software download with Enigma2 support IPTV, web brower-in Satellite TV Receiver from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com
Free fedex delivery to Ireland (came here in 8 days), no customs duty (they declared it as a 20USD mp4 player).
It has a built in fan. I had it running on top of another box right-side-up and while it got very hot it never froze on it's own during 6 days of operation (even left it on overnight to see). Now I have it turned over with the cover off to avoid potential heat damage. It's running the original openPLI 2.1 image that shipped with the box. Didn't try any other images.
The box is quick and responsive, except when using coolTVGuide which is painfully slow, but Autobouquets, cross epg and merlinEPGcenter and most other plugins run flawlessly. Switches channels quickly enough and can also scroll really quickly through the channel list if you want to see what's on while holding the switch channel button (small thing that means a lot to me).
I've used it to stream movies and music from my NAS and it's performed outstandingly well. The only thing wrong with it is that a lot of the plugins in the download menu are incompatible and crash the box under the original image. Also, my remote's UP button needs to be pressed really hard in order to register, but I can always use the tv remote to operate it.
HD channels look good although I think they might be a tad better looking on my skyboxF3, but the SD channels look much better than F3.
Extremely happy with the purchase and I can't see it beaten for the price.Comment

Well mine eventually started to freeze every hr or so even with various fans installed and just became a pain in the arse, so with nothing to lose I decided to try and prise the heat sink off.
Big mistake because the adhesive is so strong that it ripped the chip from the mainboard.
And on further inspection after finally prising the chip away from the adhesive, I don't know whether this adhesive has thermal properties or not but i did discover not one drop of adhesive or thermal compound was actually on the chip itself (the wee metal bit at the centre of the processor), the heatsink is basically glued to the chip with nothing else which would explain the over heating issues.
I was going to try reflowing it but I have just noticed that I have cracked the processor itself so it's now only fit for the bin.Comment
