Heres a picture of my box with a fan fitted and to be honest keeps the box very cool and i don't notice much noise from it spinning.

The one thing thats a bit annoying about the fan is that it remains spinning in standby so i put it in deep standby at night or when its not going to be used for a while. Epg is set to update during the day.

Its running vix 2.3 with no problems

wonder if clearmem would make it freeze free on vix3 ? If so then I will be getting getting one of these in the next couple of weeks, anyone up for trying it ? pretty please with cherrys on tp (and lots of thanks on forum )

tbh looking at the new openbox I think its exactly the same box as this, at least the specs are the same and the case looks the same, someone posted a link on openbox to a seller in uk who got them at 70 notes. Like I say I don't know for sure this is the same box but it sure looks like it

Hallo folks,

I had severe problems with this box freezing constanly, i couldnt watch any program for more than 10 minutes without freezing but i found the solution at least for my box. You will notice in the addons that there is a plugin called HDMI CEC setup, what i did was disabling it and now im running 3 days without a glitch! Id like to mention that i had tried making a swap space, installed clearmem and also putting a fan but still had those freezings. After disabling that plugin im running latest openPLI without any of these mods mentioned above.

So please if you have random freezes try to disable that plugin and report if it worked for you.

Well, ClearMem and no more freezes was coincidence, next day they were just back.

Will remove now and let you know, thanks for finding!!!!

Great, i'm looking forward for your results!
Im freeze free from Sunday night, i hope this is a solution that works for everybody.

Hmm, still freezing for now. Will re flash things tomorrow, but it is a rather clean one. Until now ran CCcam with OpenPLi, there are other combinations to try of course. Could you possibly reinstall HDMI CEC to confirm? .

What dislikes me is that there is no mentioning of the freezes in the logs, or even better crash logs. Not hardware related I hope.

I didnt uninstall HDMI CEC just disabled it, i am attaching my settings below, they are in greek but the settings are in the same position so youll get the idea. OpenPLi image as stated in "about" section is last upgraded: 2013-04-03.

PS: oxi means no
vai means yes

Reflashed newest OpenPLi, immediately disabled HDMI CEC and put OScam on it. So far so freeze free.
