Cloud ibox unbranded solo clone

I received my box last week from a chin ease supplier. I first took care of the heat issue. I removed the card reader, made few holes on the card holder plastic cover and attached to it a 6cm fan. The box is ice cold now. Later I solved the freeze problem due to removing the card reader by shortening pin 5 and 6. Using latest VIX image(august) with no glitch for one week. Thanks for this info. before if i used any new images like openpli 3.0 ect... my box would lock up so had to use old images. now when i shortening pin 5 and 6 my box does not lock up with all new images thanks again

Hi, i see there is named ibox cloud and mini vu solo version look exact same , i have the mini vu solo one , i flashed in latest vix 3.0 build, picons, plugins, epg all set been running 24/7 for past 3 days no issues , i taken out the card reader and didn't shorten the pins and using the stock fan ,

For me the newer OpenPLi (and openVTi) images (OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130825_usb.zip) don?t work now. After flashing and rebooting, the output stays black. The monitors detects 1280x720, but there isn?t a picture showed. Also the box isn?t accesible by network.

Older images work fine, openvix-3.0.649-vusolo_usb for example. Do I need to update something by the rs232 port?

edit: OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130817_usb.zip , works . OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130824_usb.zip doesn?t work

edit2: for me, OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130820_usb.zip is the latest that works. Hope they will fix things, after all it?s a clone ofcourse..

Hi, i noticed this as well with latest vix 3.0 , same issue on clone vu solo , hopefully a update via rs232 port will sort it

Maybe someone can test with http://downloads.pli-images.org/buil...130826_usb.zip (new today)? I don't have access to my friend's iBox anymore. Little chance it works tbh.

So far, it seems the best is to save the latest image that worked for you (08-20 for me).

Also, can say that this OpenPLi with OSCam is stable, no freezes encountered. To be sure, I disabled HDMI-CEC (in plugins) and put a little fan on the heat sink (with cardreader removed).

I believe vu updated their drivers so I would imagine no new official image will work until their is a "secret/security" chip update made available for the cloud ibox/mini solo/s6000hd, which may never happen.

Until then you probably want to look for clone safe images later than about the 20-22 August.

You 'should' then be able to use the images online update functions again until their is another update in the drivers (this depends on which image you use).

Ok, that's the risk with a clone. For now I'm happy it didn't brick the iBox.

latest vix 3.0 that works is build 721 , so hopefully they release a security update so can again start using the latest builds

Just read on the forum of OpenPLi that someone with an orig Vu+ Solo suffers from the black image too .

you sure some people over at vix forum said the same but didn't know they had clone vu solo's , people have updated the original vu solo fine to latest vix build so wouldn't think anything is wrong

i am now using the latest blackhole 2.0.5 image without any freezing problems it is the openbox s6000hd which is just the same box as the cloud ibox without a fan it has got the v3 chip in it i don`t know if that makes a difference i am using a twin fan usb notebook cooler to keep my box cool
