This is my second clone. Managed to get the seller to send me out a version 2 sent out to replace my version 1 when I first had problems driving the motor.Your Clone is at least trying to drive the motor i have seen some that wont drive them at all, There are a few possible solutions for this.
1. Buy another and hope you get a good one Duo Clone PSU from China.
2. when changing satellites does the problem occur when changing to sweep a large ARC like say go from 28.2? east to 30.0? west if so try going to each individual satellites or try just 2 at a time instead of one big ARC sweep
3. change from USALS to Diseqc 1.2 mode and use the advanced mode in the service searching and store each satellite individually.
I think most of the problems stem from people doing large ARC sweeps that puts added pressure on the PSU as well as switching from a Vertical TP 13v to a Horizontal TP 18v, you could try if your current channel is a V TP then choose another V TP on a different sat and see if that helps, Then at least the psu is not only trying to drive the motor but also do the TP switching as well.
worth a try
Initially is was a lot better but slowly getting worse again
I don't really do big arc sweeps as I mainly watch between 0.8w and 28.2e.
I've also tried the vertical/horizontal transponder idea but that didn't help.
I have found vix 2.3 pre kernal 133 is slightly better with vix 2.4 being the worst.
I know it's not my motor as the installer had a banged up old technomate that drove it fine.
I haven't tried the diseqc route yet due to a severe lack of time and know-how.
Just biding my time till the duo2 comes out then i'll decide what to get as a replacement.
If I knew you were selling your clone I might have had it off you.Comment

Sorry you lost me there m8
Ultimo was not on my hit list, cheap (relatively speaking) though it is. Might be ?399, but that's outside my price bracket.
Was between Uno or discounted Duo for me, and as Digicon says in a moment of inexplicable madness I ignored my own advice.
EDIT - my reference to being Out of stock btw was to that website MTV1 posted, and it was my clearly pathetic attempt at humour.Last edited by meggiedude; 11 July, 2012, 15:30.Comment

Ah, got to love those Early Adopters. Always there to troubleshoot the first derivatives at a premuim price, so they work fine and dandy when the rest of us pick them up.
Only teasing....

It's seems we both had pathetic attempts at humour then
I had a smillie attached but it somehow disappeared.
Let's try again.

There the bugger is!Comment

I was just thinking of a cheapish fix for my clone psu problem.
Using an original psu should sort it right?Comment

Yeterday I found an old flash drive, so decided to stick it in my clone duo to use for epg.
Stuck it in no problems, but it also seems to have cured some of my power supply issues.
The duo now seems to have the juice to move the motor more times than not.
It's gone from working 20% of the time to 90% of the time.
Well chuffed.
I guess it's because the hard drive isn't working all the time now so has the power to move the motor?Comment

my VU+DUO German order
Hi all, I've just decided to bite the bullet and ordered a VU+DUO and a quad lnb from a very helpful sat shop in Germany. Here's the linky if anyone wants to do the same.
VU+ HDTV Satelliten, Kabel und DVB-T Receiver
at the moment they are doing them with 36 months warranty which is priced on Ebay at around ?30 and the quad lnb comes with a 5 year warranty. Inclusive of UPS,taxes, and exchange fee it all came to a little over ?277 and for the extra warranty I consider it worth a few days wait.Hope this helps someone......Oh btw I paid with Paypal as I didn't want any problems with credit card fees etc..although Paypal charge something prolly......Comment
