    Hi
    I'm going to buy interface for my JETTA 2011 MK6.
    Which one do you recommend as more stable and have possibility to upgrade to higher version in the future:

    or

    Why not?

    I would recommend these:
    1) Cheaper version, fully sufficient for your car: http://www.obd2cartool.com/vagcom-16...version-p-1266
    2) More expensive version (a bit faster to do Autoscan and a few other functions but essentialy not a miracle with "new style cool look"): http://www.obd2cartool.com/atmega-va...t-skoda-p-1492

    Both can be flashed in the future

    @hid3 Thanks for reply.
    As you can see at my post #5548 http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...=1#post3204516 I already have interface with version 16.8.0.3. I think that it's possible to upgrade it, but I don't believe in my solder ability . So, I'm looking for interface with soldered pins, ready to connect to USBASP programmer. I need to upgrade to higher version because in my I've got a ROD file missing problem for ENGINE after volkswagen emissions scandal upgrade.

    ODB2carTool is a known and trusted seller here. I personally own cables offered by this company. Great products for reasonable price, that's what I can say.
    The "HEX-V2" is Atmega162 based (unlinke other crap in Aliexpress) with some fast CAN and K-Line chips.

    Oh, I see. I guess you are in the States based on the emissions recall
    Anyway, cables from OBD2CarTool have Atmega162 chip. All of them have equal abilities to run some newer versions.

    Thank you for your support. I'm in Europe.
    That one you proposed http://www.obd2cartool.com/vagcom-16...version-p-1266 has something like STC but I wonder if it's detachable by jumpers on board when I need to do upgrade?

    I think it's not STC but some AES chip. It doesn't protect Atmega EEPROM. I have reflashed several such interfaces with jumpers left as shorted without any side effects (doesn't roll back anything).
