That will definitely need the loader then if you are going to do anything that requires coding/security access

Anyone seen this error and how to resolve. Have tried vcds 22.10, 23.3 and 23.3.1 and still no luck .

YES MAN!

1st step: you must have already installed the VIIPlus Loader(compatible with vcds software) and the vcds software. The icons must be on desktop.
2nd step: with your vcds cable connected only open VIIPLus Loader (dont press start vcds or more info...) and on this VIIPLus Loader opened DRAG the icon vcds.exe from desktop to VIIPlus Loader and automatically will run and start that software.
The reason of your error it is that the VIIPlus Loader only run and start the latest vcds software opened before. And an old software it is now it his memory...

If you are lucky then you can flash this with the FLY firmware I released some time a go using a STM debugger. I think this type of cable might be preset to RDP1.

But if this cable was bought to use with any newer version of VCDS then 20.4.1 it is probably already flashed with this FLY firmware and you tried to upgrade it using VIIPlus loader? If this is the case then you are out of luck and cable is bricked.

by the look this is not a stm32-chip... the VIIPlusLoader will not work with this version of the device.

ViiPlusLoader will not work with that device. Its not STM32 based
