unfortunately it's a grey area. no-one is going to brick their box on purpose just so they can try and JTAG it.

If you have a dead box then you are simply going to have to persevere and hopefully you'll be a mentor to others.

One DM have bad flash (fffffffffffff) but just 2 days ago it works well until someone put wrong image inside

First of all great Forum!

Jtag worked for me using DM500c but only that. I am still unable to flash box afterall with dreamup using the right cable (nullmodem), Comm settings a.s.o. before Jtag my box was not recognised by the dreamup software now at least I get the Boxtype: Dm500 back but there it stucks and won't move on. Tried it on different PC's left it for over 1h nothing happened.

Tried also using different blimgs, receiver types a.s.o. I get the Boxtype Message in Dreamup with only one specific blimg (alps) so that somehow tells me it worked but still unable to flash from that point on with dreamup. Also tried different dreamup versions, other flash programms and even another Power supply. Any ideas?

hi all,
I have a dm500 that i try to jtag with no success. I have all cables for jtag correct and i am using the jtagdm500.exe.
The problem is that it starts downloading bootloader and it hangs in some point (some times 1% then 20% etc.). It is an alps tuner as the info told so but i tried all (alps,philips) with no success. I tried with jtag_windows and it starts writing flash but in some point again it closes without notice and flashing is not complete. I managed to make it finish the flash 100% only when download starts i connect with dreamup and leave it connected till end. Now the box starts the green light always on but it is like dead (no dreamup connection, no gemini start, no nothing)!!!
What can i do? or better what am i doing wrong?
