    FY800HD

For those FY800HD with only green lite appears but cant boot up, just replace the 2 pc of MP1482ds or es. I heard some bros paid as much as $80+ for that repair on a crap box. My sympathy.

Pls dont PM me for repair as I m really really very old and cant do sophisticated work. Just try my suggestion, I wont lead u astray.

Yes, if u measure the 3.3v and 1.8v([email protected] side n center pin), u will find it missing, so it the power chip thats faulty for the boot-sector. One poor uncle show me his bill and I was shocku ne. So ex just bcos he bot his box 1yr+ ago for $400???? Poor soul. I wonder why some repairman is so nasty. Cost of a compatible equivalent is abt SGD75 only in China and better quality too.

Sorry, if box boot but no chn appear or seems inactive with selected chn, it the other power chip also 1482. So suggest just replace both to save time opening up the box again.

            Hi jatrophaseed

I'm getting 1x green LED and can't boot up.
            My box is the FYHD800C-II.
You mention to replace the 2x MP1482ds or es (i'm assuming these are power IC chips) I'm not electrical or Electronic trained so i'm really need some help here.

I opened up my box at the power broad area, i can't seems to find those 2 IC chips at least with that model number you mention.

I only found 3 IC chips
            8-pin 0B2358AP
            4-PIN 1125B (ORIENT 817C)
            2-PIN 1009 (KA 432AZ)

            Attached are the images.

Yrs is CII and not d HD800C, but same power supply wud not kick-start theory.
FY problem r, 1117 and that 1482 or equivalent and their cheapo power-pack.
                1117 a 100uf x pin2 and 3
                1482 juz change them.
All on the main Mobo not the power-pack side.

No use talking to Dav Jones, they no more repairing as the Chinaman gone home for good.

                  Hi jatrophaseed

                  I found the 2x MP1482ES, AMS1117 3.3 and LM1117 1.8 on the main-board.

Will be heading down to Sim Lim tower tomorrow to get the components and DIY on the replacement.
Hopefully after replacing it will work.

Will update if it is successful or failure.

                  Thanks for the guidance.

Replace only the 2 pc 1482 1st as thet r the most common calprit. DS or ES r both ok.
1117 3.3volt and 1.8 volt no need to change, juz put a 100uf (10v) across center pin and Ground (GND).

See if yr HDMI is working. If HDMI worked. (sorry for the high lite, some cannot see what I posted). 17-1-13 edited.
replace FL128, chip next to the composite connector socket.

If HDMI dont work, something wrong with the Box software. I dont hv the sw so u hv to asked DragonHead.

Many thanks for your advice, Jatro.

HDMI and composite are working, so looks like software is ok. I shall go shopping for a new FL128 for my 2 boxes.

                              Hi Crap80

Yes, you need to remove and resolder the chip.
But the problem is i have replaced 2x MP1482ES, AMS1117 3.3 and AMS1117 1.8. My box still failed to boot. Not sure Jatrophaseed have any other solution, i really hope it is not software issue, else it's really goodbye to to my box.

Attached it the image of the location of the chips.
