The Vii outside is a poor indication of the mobo version. If your 'Chn search' is 3 digits, chances r no, you cannot get 156.5Mhz but TV4$ME is ok, search for the freq.
If your 'Chn search' is 6digit, ( new small digi-tuner) this type box can rcvd 156.5Mhz. h2,h2 hd. lifetime and lifetime hd. I heard a new fw is coming out soon, perhaps you contact your supplier for new fw upgrade??
Dont PM me, I am not related with them.
Pls also note these boxes' RJ45 are not connected, so it is a doorstop when N3 comes. Info i suggested are for your own reveal, many tawkays noobies dont care about changing boxes every few months, i was told straight in the face. Decision at your discretion.
I always pre-empt any new changes.

hi all, just would like to know, cos i purchased the latest FY800HD-VII set top box.
Unable to add in the new channels like Lifetime, Lifetime HD, H2, H2 HD and also TV4Me.
This channels are all in 156.00Mhz frequency with the symbolrate of 6090 (as given by astrobox).
Anyone able to add these channels in the set top box or have any idea how to resolve this?

you are right, the channel search is 3 digit only, no chance of putting in the .5 mhz, maybe thats why can't search for the channel, also, can i just ask, what do you mean by "doorstop when N3 comes"?
I have been trying to contact my supplier for FW upgrade for days, still awaiting response

Simple term is the box will become useless. The supplier can claim that their fy box will work on n3 but has it been tested? Even their autoroll function was not put to the test yet.
@ P15, yes, u r right, their AU roll is not tested. N3 some models had bn tested but 95% of their boxes are NOT usable in N3 new system share. The box will not work independently. Pls read up on Nagra3 system sharing and get a 1st hand knowledge of what is to come. My personal suggestion is a small group ~~~~. Dont depend on market uploader.
Seems this FYHD thread is the most subscribe.. anyway, I was pondering over which dreambox to get and came to a decision to get the DM800HD-SE but with N3 in the works, I went for the FYHD800 VII because it is too bloody cheap for the price on a HD set compared to the 800se.. and asking the old birds here for directions where to buy the box seem to go nowhere as it's probably sensitive..
My opinions on the box? The FYHD is really a good budget box. It appears to be a touch slower compared to a friend's DM500C box and the SH default stb. The interface still loses out to those by Dreambox, but it's HD resolution is great and the tuner seems to acquire the signal better than dreambox, although this is just an impression as I haven't and don't intend to test the 2 units side by side as the boxes are at different places (mine and a friends).
Unfortunately, the tuner doesn't have the .5hz searching function so h2 and the other newer channels are no go but it's not a deal breaker for me as I have a SH set top box in the main living room. (using it as a spare for bedroom viewing before sleeping). (UPDATE 22Aug2013: the new firmware is out and I can now receive these new channels no problem, link is in post #273)
I have read thru the cons of the FYHD boxes, and these version may have addressed them. The previous box suffered from a poor PSU design within the box and they have mitigated this by using a external power adapter instead. I haven't tested if the ethernet is connected anot but looking at the interface of the box, it doesn't appear to have any network function but I'm not aware how it usually works as it's my first time using such a stb.. there are USB ports and there is an option to use a USB wireless adapter so MAYBE it can have a wifi function but I haven't looked into it either..
Firmware update appears to be done only via USB so it appears there's no way for user updating so be aware where you buy the set from as the firmware upgrade needs to be compiled by the factory so YMMV with any of the supplier..
All in, I can't complain for the price since I can watch alot of channels already for a auxiliary room box..
