Can this firmware be use on fyhd800 III?

This is the 1st hd box from fy which I got.

Yes it can be used. Put into USB and load from Menu setup, search the file, press ok, ok manual updat press update. Too many versions, I don't know their marketing model nor but jus put to Manual update shudder b ok.

Is there any difference between the FY800 HD sets, e.g. FY HD800C VII, FYHDc -e? I know there are some differences in the set top box itself, like white and black colour. But otherwise, is there a difference in the internals?

China side likes to create awareness by playing with the numbers just to get more sales.
Very unethical. Any minor changes to the firmware, they will release as a new version. But everything is still the same. It may look a little diff.

Its good to see that Master and Seniors provide some form of support for the FY boxes here
Otherwise the FY box users here has no one to turn to when problem arises

Hopefully can see new firmware up.. at the moment master J's firmware listed here should be the latest. I understand from my supplier that white and black fyhd boxes has different firmware..
the black fyhd firmware is attached for those who needs a backup. note that it's the default firmware of the box I have.. it's indicated sw version 100 so you can go into your box menu to see what version you have..

still waiting for new firmware updates..

have tried both v100 and the one jatrophaseed have uploaded which is v2.1
v100 looks more sleek but can't tune to the latest channels, for v2.1 looks the same as v1.0 but can tune to the new channels

How do i upgrade the firmware?
I insert the thumbdrive into the setup box and select upgrade usb.
The setup box did a reboot that all.

Did i miss out on any step?

Rename the unzipped files to upgrade.bin
and Flashed via USB thumbdrive.

Did the channels mess up after you upgraded firmware?
If yes, when first startup did you choose Country = Hong Kong?
Reinstall firmware and during first startup choose Hong Kong and rescan channels.
Channel sort = By LCN

i did not manage to upgrade the software.
I manage to get back most of the channels after i did the auto scan.
