Peeps with N2 cards on upc will be able to get the RSA key from the card. The best way forward from here is to find the RSA from the card and then look for it in the box firmware to find the exact location.

If the box is not jtaggable then we don't have any hope of finding it at all.

There is a good chance it may not be in the flash it could be elsewhere. We don't know until we experiment and it could take sometime.

On another sat forum they say the RSA key is extracted by geting the eprom flash out of the cam in various receivers though there is no more info as its not public. Also in some old receivers there may not even have an RSA a key so you can get away with using the Box key only for pairing.

For peeps on N3 its worth trying with the Box key only.

i have the dual unlooper and when i was doing some research i could have sworn i saw something about unlooping scripts for a n2 card if i find it ill pm it to you.

ok so do you think its reasonable to build a dm500 image with newcs+mpcs+cccam

what image should i be using Pli gemmni or the dk image??
im currently playing around with a pli image but i cant find mpcs to install from the download server.
i have found a manual install but i am not sure what version i should load and what sequence the emu's should be loaded ie newcs, mpcs then cccam or can i have newcs and cccam loaded and manually ad mpcs ?

can someone please explain exactly why mpcs is needed i have some idea what new cs and cccam do but ive never heard of mpcs

im willing to put the time in but i need a bit of guidance on this one

for those who are wondering the box has had ic's lifted to get a dump of whats inside

is there a public script for the n2 card ?

There are various scripts knocking around the net but they may need ammending. I don't know if the exact script for the Ireland cards was released when they were hacked.

On many sat images they have an option to load the desired cam from the server in which case you should be able to select newcs+mpcs+cccam etc.

I don't think cable images have these options on their servers.

that eagle image, if you had box connected to web newcs+mpcs+cccam was on their server as a package
or just looked at the nabilo server it has a gbox cam labelled for rom142 cant hurt to try these options

not on the gemini server either

re: the eagle image you need to ftp to the box to change or remove the password as well
and do a factory reset then load you cables.xml & cams

How do you come to the idea newcs would support your card?

Question for any of the pros on this forum.

If your receiver is an old one which used a n1 card, and the provider did a firmware upgrade via the stream.Then they issue you new nagra3 card, would the receiver now have the RSA keys for n3 or would it still use the old n1 session keys method (ird#+boxkeys to generate session keys) ?

A N3 card which get paired to an old box is working with the old N1 session key method and a N3 card which get paired to a new box is working with the new RSA key method.
If you want to get a card working you have to use a card server which is able to speak the right language.
Newcs is not able to handle the old N1 session key method.
