    DM800 7-14days epg on Dreambox 800.

    Ok, as many of you know I've been researching a way to fix the epg on the cable dm800 to give more than 7 days. I've tried every image, and every script and none of them work.

    Now the only one which appears possbile is using the following solution:

    Niblosat blackhole 12 image has crossepg already installed. So thats the path to go.

    Now, its already setup to grab epg.dat files from different urls, but they are all for Sat, which is of no use to us.

    So , we need to create our own epg.dat file which the dreambox can be setup for download from the net for us.

    Now, Im not good at xml making and am beginning to burnout trying to learn this so decided to share with others who may be able to take this solution to its final step.

    XMLTV GUI Is a program which will download and parse the radio times guides and create an xml file. We need it to make the correct format of the xml file and then we rename it to epg.dat, gzip it and upload to hosting somewhere.

    When that file is correct, we then simply put the url into crossepg and tell it to grab it from the hosting. THen crosspeg is meant to populate the daily/weeklyepg data and now 7-14days epg which you can set recording days ahead.

    Guys, I need some help on this one so I would appreciate you coders with more understanding of xml help on this so we can share with all of us here.

    I have 7 day epg on my 7025. I use e2_loadepg. Google it and you'll find it easy. To get it working you have to modify the channel config file to match your exact channel names and include the provider for each channel. Its a ballache but once done it works fine.

    IMHO Crossepg is a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

      Here is my ext.epg.dat file from last night.

      Follow the instructions on editing your enigma2.sh given here Installation (EN) - Ambrosa Website

      After you made the changes to your enigma2.sh file (lives in /usr/bin/) Put the epg file (unzip it first) on your dreambox hard drive and restart enigma and see what happens.

            This will only be any good if your channels and providers are the same as mine.

            Again - unzip it first.

                      just an update, have it installed and seems to be working, but still only 1 day listing.

                      How I increase to 14?

                        ok, I can see in cache folder its download 7 days for each channel.

                        Theres also epg.dat in hdd root folder...which I guess its made and updated.

                        But when I view multiepg, it still only shows 1 day :-/

                        can you upload your hdd/e2_loadepg folder for me please?

                          Did you make the changes to your enigma2.sh file? The ones detailed on the e2_loadepg website?

                          If it's downloading it for you then you've cracked the hardest part. The edit to the enigma2.sh file is what loads it into the epg for you.

                          Use the HDD path edit in your enigma2.sh file as I haven't been able to get it to work from the CF card for some reason.

                            Yes made changes to e2+loadepg using gemini image saved on hdd.

                            Which is this one:
                            [ -f /media/hdd/ext.epg.dat ] && mv /media/hdd/ext.epg.dat /media/hdd/gemini.epg.dat
                            LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libopen.so.0.0 /usr/bin/enigma2

                            My epg settings:
                            mediahighway = off
                            Freesat = off
                            Private = On

                            Update interval = 1 hour
                            Cachefile = on
                            Filename = gemini.epg.dat
                            place = media/hda1
                            autosave = 3 hours.

                            ---------

                            You see anything wrong in those settings?
                            I just reinstalled it all again and used your radiotimes cfg file.
                            It completed the update and made a ext.epg.dat file which is only 25k

                            Im thinking I have to wait for it to update itself again??? before it makes the gemini.epg.dat?

                              If your epg.dat file is only 25k then I would say there is a problem with the rt.conf file. Just change/check the BBC ONE entry to your provider. You can get it from Menu - Information - Service info.

                              Are you running e2_loadepg in a telnet session? If not do that as you'll get more info on what is happening. Basically it will still download the information if the providers are incorrect in the rt.conf file. It just won't be able to make the epg.dat correctly.
