7-14days epg on Dreambox 800.

still not getting any further with this, can someone maybe bullet point the steps for this to see if i can figure out where i am going wrong.

also i still cannot set up a network mount to my pc, if i can get that sorted i would have more luck with this perhaps.

Are you saying you don't have a HDD in your box?

no i do have an internal hdd.
iv edited the channel in the radio times conf file for bbc north east etc.

its still stuck to 1 day epg and its now randomly setting recordings!

still not managed to map the network drive on pc, which i could do before.

i would just really appreciate someone breaking it up into steps to see if im just missing something.

As the image description states, you MUST have internal HDD in a dm800 for 14day epg to work.

iv edited the channel in the radio times conf file for bbc north east etc.

Easiest thing to do is start from scratch. Flash Bonesey's Image onto your box and it is already set up for you. Just delete the stuff you have on your harddrive and copy the HDD files back onto yours (might need to CHmod).

Then take it from there.

If you want you could back up your radio times file so that you don't need to re-edit the channels. However that might be part of the issue so it might be best not to.

i may have no choice on this. it has now started randomly changing channel while i am watching something.

stil only 1 day epg and now with this happening every few minutes and not having a clue why, if noone else knows i think i will have to reimage the box. again.

i think a guide to how to get this epg running properly would be a great thing if any of you guys can be bothered to write one.

surely must be a lot of dm800c users out there, not just me struggling :/

i just think a step by step bullet point list would be handy as a sticky im obviously missing some step.

network won't map to my pc
epg still only 1 day
on some channels random channel changes, not all channels affected.
evocam will not clear.

would really love to get this working for 14 day epg mostly.

Why not tell us what you have done to get this far?

Have you ran the program through telnet to get it setup? If you have, you haven't mentioned it once and that would be the reason for only having 1 day EPG.

the random channel changing i mentioned hoping someone else might know the cause.

"I have setup as a cron to download all the channels feeds from the Radiotimes @ 04:30am every morning. It will then restart enigma automatically and put your DM into standby mode. So when you awake in the morning, press power on button and within seconds, TV is displayed and ALL 14 days epg is available. At all stages of the process, a popup on screen will tell when it begins an new process and when completed.

If you wish to force an update then you must either setup a conjob yourself or telnet into the box and use the following commands:

cd /media/hdd/e2_loadepg/

Then

e2_loadepg.py"

suggests to me this should work and you only need to telnet in if you want to force an update.

extracted hdd.rar to hdd in dm800
edited the radiotimes conf file for my channels
set an auto mount on dm800 to my pc, but it will not mount it. same settings i used on last image which worked fine.

You don't have a internal hdd, right? You must be able to mount your external hd to /media/hdd for it to work. If you cant do this then you are screwed.

Also, the way that Bonsey has set it up means that you will need to do an initial execution of e2_loadepg.py or wait overnight for the cron job to do its business.

Seriously, you really need to be able to telnet in. I would suggest you disable DHCP on your router and give your DM a static IP address.

Once you can telnet in, execute /media/hdd/e2_loadepg.py (or whatever the correct path to e2_loadepg.py is) and watch the output.

You aren't making any sense though mate. If you can't connect to the box via your router then how on earth are you connecting to the HDD to extract the HDD files onto it? How are you transferring the image to the box? Do you understand how the mounts etc work? You don't need to create a mount to telnet to the box.

i can connect via router i just cant get it to show up in my networks on the pc, it used to.

im not at home but il try telnetting when i am, from the router.

i think i understand the mounts, it worked on my other image just cant get it to work on this one.

set it as cifs, server ip = pc ip usr/pwd of pc account.

i flashed the image via the website.

any help would be appreciated though. tearing my hair out at this point.
