Tried your method that you describe, was able to reset the system and enter the "F8 key" but channels with "dollar Sign" not able to view only free channels can view,

Recently on 18 Jul, Key changed, resulting in many DM900CII user unable to view.

I know nothing abt setting/flashing, not to even mention recover, in the end did a master reset on my 900CII, till now I admit this is a stupid thing to do.

thru many email advice and MSN message and lots of help from many brother. Please refer to below for those people, who master Reset their DM900CII, and don't know how to recover.
The guide is only for those who did a Master Reset
1. By all mean, i assume you master reset your device, now
do another round of Master Reset

2. Once reset, on 900CII, will prompt you for auto tuning,
skip this, by pressing YELLOW to go into MENU, select TP
range tuning.
Range: 304 to 698, proceed to search

3. When done, i have around 120++ channel detected.
Press YELLOW to go to MENU again
Press BLUE repeatly till COMMAND Box comes out
Command: f8 ....................
"..............." meaning after f8, the rest all ff

i know key is not allow, therefore i try to "shorten the key posted here".

4. It should work and all the channel are back and "viewable"
or "watchable"


yes I know all channel inside, but how come all channel s position is all mess up.

Well, I can help till this stage, i am still figuring how to put those channel postion back to default position.

BUT at least your box is usable, need not to spend money on new cards or new dreambox.

1st, are you using DM900CII?

I only know this model, the rest I don know.

Do a master reset again, then TP scan.

then
Press YELLOW to go to MENU again
Press BLUE repeatly till COMMAND Box comes out
Command: f8 ffffffffffffffffffffff all the way.

Did exactly what you mentioned, still it did not work...my demand channels are gone after master reset, would greatly appreciate if you can suggest other alternative.

get someone who has DM900C-V(having the latest firmware/image, to perform upgrade, will be fine.

I did this, only to re-arrange back my channel.

I followed your instructions from the system master reset and all I got was only channel one (a European channel) the rest did not work. Do you think I can still do an update like one of the members' recommended?

I upgrade my 900CII with 5th Gen Card inserted <--> DM900C-V, rubbish box turn into usable box.

I'm not sure if upgrade with 2nd Gen Card or old card, will solve problem or not

Reply from China side:
those DM900CII user this few days, unable to view channel, due to unknown reason, even if we have key in the correct code, but unable to watch, means that need to change to new card --> 5th Gen Aucard.

I perform system udate my 900CII - DM900C-V via serial cable, with 5th Gen aucard plugged in, problem solved.

Therefore, to solve the problem, new card is needed.

Take Note !!!
The 5th generation card does not support auto key roll in DM900Cxx. If provider change the key, you need to manually input the correct key again in order to watch. But the card work petty well on auto key roll in others box like 801/5288/5688/2011, mk3388, fy901c, ...

To test on your dm900c, try changing the key 00/01 to any any incorrect key. You will face cannot watch paid channel. Even for a couple of minutes still cannot autoroll. This prove that it doesn't support auto roll key.

The new 5th generation card can allow you the watch all channel on dm900. But the card will not get new key transmitted from the provider (SH). It does support the automatic key roll feature only.
