Is this normal as its not an actual tv channel?

Yeah just noticed that the epg had come through. This takes 10 mins to set up but makes a big difference to the box. Definately worth the little effort involved in setting this up.

I just wish EVERYONE realized how eazy-peazy 7 Day EPG is to get up and running. Now press Blue then Yellow. Automatic Daily Timers to do things while your fast akip. Study them- and you'll get the drift, if you're in pure nthell, that is...

TW and ex-C&W users might see a different picture- like it trying to zapto channels that don't exist. So spend a few minutes on setting these up properly- but you'll have to Delete the ones that show faulty.

Timer 1 should be OK - Shutdown- but change the time to suit YOUR lifestyle if needed. Shutdown empties the EPG cache from memory.

Timer 2 is a wakeup- make this any channel you like, 5 mins or more after the Shutdown.

Timer 3 is the important one! Zapto PVR_EPG - this is where a fresh lot of 7 Days EPG gets sucked into memory.

Timer 4 is where you Zapto another channel 5 mins later (but test this in case it needs longer, might need 6 or 7 or 8 etc in PVR_EPG). This is the channel you want to come downstairs to each morning.

Timer 5- optional; you could place the box into Standby Mode if you wish, 5 mins after timer 4. Else- forget this.

Essentially- these Timers keep your box perpetually topped up with 7 Days EPG if set up properly, something the Radio Times cannot do, LOL!

          Have fun! Cheers- AL

Finally got it working great with cams and key fix

Having network turned off by default took a while to work out!

Just going to test for a few days make a few tweaks to get the best out of it and see how it goes.

thanks to all the commando team for making a great image

Commando 10b back to JFFS2 updated

                  What's new?

IDE-HDD now running sweet-as! Test feedback from our resident Chief Tester, LraiZer:

it detects, mounts, records and plays my pre-formated xfs ide-hdd fine now, thanks!

changed settings to Filesystem EXT2 and used HDD Initalise to reformat to ext2.
this detects, mounts, records and plays the re-formatted ext2 ide-hdd fine.

changed settings back to Filesystem XFS and used HDD Initalise to reformat back to xfs.
this detects, mounts, records and plays the reformatted xfs ide-hdd fine.

Good work, LraiZer! Thanks for your time, trouble and knowledge, m8!

Infobar EPG bug sorted! Virtual Zap is now set to ON by default, so when you left or right arrow key to see what's on adjacent channels, you can now arrow down again, to see what's on later, instead of getting the dreaded EPG not loaded... error. Was a bug in the cvs; now fixed.

Features Menu (Blue button)- Softcam menu now has dbox button assigned to it, instead of Red button. Se we don't now get two menu items each with a Red button, if you have Recording activated (which it is now). Turn Recording OFF in Settings, if you don't want this to appear in Features menu.

                    You guys rock!!!

Been using the box for a few years now and the commando images have always been my favorite. I can't wait to have a look at this new one.

Thanks to the guys who write this stuff and the knowledge that we are all able to gain from these forums.

                    Keep up the good work.

It's posted several times in this thread. But then again, no-one reads the whole thread anyway.

Ooh! The cvs fix for the Infobar also appears to have fixed another recent quirk.

dbox > Settings > Misc > Infobar > subchannel display

There are 5 toggles for this; the 4 corners of the screen, or the Infobar itself. But no matter which one you chose and saved, the L / R buttons always just brought the Infobar up.

It's now working as it should do! I've got my little Audio box 0/1-English back in the top right corner. Woooo!

BTW- default IP Address is now 192.168.0.3
and yes, Network start at bootup is now ON
and DHCP is now OFF by default, I noticed!

                          Cheers- AL
