Its definitely the Openvix Apollo image which turns out the lights ive gone back to Openpli 4 to get Dreamplex working better.
Lights on display are working fine on Openpli.
Think the colour and look of the box will put a few off. Handset looks pretty decent but the back usb and Ethernet are far to close together and can see that being a problem long term.

I'm not too keen on the Q5. It's cheap, and the picture quality is quite good, but it has a weak tuner, and sometimes takes ages to switch between certain channels. You get a message signal lost, and it can take minutes for the channel to come on.

I would rather have paid a lot more for a legit receiver, form a good company like VU. I already have a Dreambox 800 HD se, for satellite, so I can't put another Dreambox beside it, as the remote will work both boxes.

Im hoping the loss of anything on the screen is down to me but will find out in the next couple of days.
Pluses are the choice of images but I don't like the way you have to flash with the usb slot in the back. Its right next to the Ethernet port which makes it a tight fit and my worry is I hope this isn't the only way to flash.
Will add more when I get my teeth into it.

I haven't had a problem with the digits on the LED going AWOL so I can't comment but as for the usb ? yeah tab tight I use a small thin usb I ve a 64gb so it can record to, at the time it cost me ?15

it slots in np , I've had vu+ duo a gen box and yeah they are far superior but ........so is the price !!! this is about 80 quid for a combo box I can't think of a box , linux E2 box , combo, running numerous images for ?80.

When all said and done it's for watching TV. If you want the box to do other things then with the money you save go out and buy a IPTV mag254 and subs for both or one of the latest android boxes with a cable tuner in it and with the rest go on the lash

one reason i question everything before buying one.

Afraid they are andy due to the chipset used flashing images is only available via USB , Could be an idea to get a USB extension lead only a couple of quid at least then your not fiddling around the back.

I recieved my Zgemma star H1 combo s/c and installed openVIX http://www.zgemma.tv/index.php?folde...1hLVN0YXItSDE=

I scanned on the cable and added autobouquets + dvbsnoop and some other bits and bobs and my first impressions are v.g. Fast enough for my needs and good quality picture. I used it on a weak line were a Q5 & Amiko T2/C struggled (picture breakup) but no problems what so ever with the Zgemma.
The only let down would be the lack of wifi and internal HD caddie which are found on the DM800se but , the DM800se is not a sat/cable. A simple pair of homeplugs and a fast 64gb stick would put that right. all in all it's got to be easily the best E2 linux combo on the market for the price, you can get it for about 80'ish direct from China with a few quid for duty on top.

If your thinking of a sat or cable box you won't go far wrong with a Zgemma

The main reason Im taking a chance is as much as I love my Dreambox800 I have to swap tuners for sat and cable and fancied a combo box.
Didn't fancy the Amiko as ive read the tuners are weak and ive got a dodgy signal on some of my cable channels.
Also fancy a newer box for iptv and this fits the bill, its cheap
