well after days of deciding to what to buy, i went for the zgemma h1, i couldnt really justify spending hundreds of pounds on the gigablue quad plus that i really wanted, i thought im only gonna watch HD channels via virmin, rareley record one channel and watch another, if i do i got a small usb hard drive or will get a usb stick...so i bought the zgemma h1, hopefully its what people say it is, cheap and cheerful enigma 2 box, i just hope the remote is very responsive , not like those skybox f3, f4, f5 etc...where you have to point directly at the reciever for it to work.....a bit late now but is remote good and responsive

I've a few questions I hope you can answer before I most likely buy one...

How/Where do do I get the Sly (skin/theme what's the difference?) on one of these?

Which zgemma box is best if you only have sly (not cable) in the home?

How do you put the C***m on one of these (would it be a need to let the provider know before putting on this box from a Skybox or is it a case of same IP no problem?)?

Where do you get the firmware updates channel list updates (preferably sky numbered (CWaite) format) for this box if applicable.

Are there any easy set up guides (similar to setting up of skybox) as not found any on here or Y0utube?

      Many thanks

        New 2015 Enigma2 Boxes DVB-C and DVB-S2 Zgemma Star H1 & 2S

Been running zgemma h1 for few days. Works fine on both cable and satellite side. Tuner seem to be very sensitive. Remote is responsive. Only thing, as expected, is it is tad sluggish compared to solo2 (of course). Not sure I will be keeping it. (confused)

I have to say, very good box for the price.! Running latest official open atv. Didn't try VIX as I didn't want to use an unsupported firmware.

Is it possible to get these zgemma boxes with wifi antenna to put in the usb slot like the skyboxes?
Assuming it is possible does it still leave the possibility of being able to record one and watch another using the remaining usb port?

I scanned on the cable and added autobouquets + dvbsnoop and some other bits and bobs and my first impressions are v.g. Fast enough for my needs and good quality picture. I used it on a weak line were a Q5 & Amiko T2/C struggled (picture breakup) but no problems what so ever with the Zgemma.
The only let down would be the lack of wifi and internal HD caddie which are found on the DM800se but , the DM800se is not a sat/cable. A simple pair of homeplugs and a fast 64gb stick would put that right. all in all it's got to be easily the best E2 linux combo on the market for the price, you can get it for about 80'ish direct from China with a few quid for duty on top.

If your thinking of a sat or cable box you won't go far wrong with a Zgemma

All depends on whether the image you have installed on the receiver has the relevant drivers to download for the USB Wi-Fi stick, Unlike the Closed source Openbox Linux enigma2 is open source so drivers can be added if you ask the developers of your favourite image

Just seeking to understand the simplicity/complexity the setup/maintenance of one of these boxes...

Have to say, wasn't until around 70 odd posts in on this thread where the bickering on this thread eased and became a little helpful.

I'm looking to get one of these boxes to replace an f5s and just after an easy to follow set up just like the threads for the openbox.

I've seen a couple of examples on the Web of this box having the look and feel of the Sly interface ie blue hd. Is this one of the supported formats. If so could I do the wifi connected and record one watch another with the setup I've described?

              Again many thanks

have this box, its great , tuners are very good...ive got an external usb 500gb hard drive hooked up to the front usb port, the back usb port is used for picons and epg, where i use a small 4gb usb stick....anyway ive got the usb hard drive plugged in the front usb port, ive changed the drive setting to go into standby after 2 minutes , but it doesnt, it remains on, ive formatted the drive and mounted it as well, but the green light on the hardrive remains on all the time..i can hear the drive spinning when i pick it up..anyway to get into standby mode when not in use?..otherwise it will remain on permeanlty...

its usb powered, so i assume the usb is keeping it powered on all the time, in record settings , default movie location is hard drive..

They Run Linux Enigma2 software so anything related can be found in the Enigma2 section Dreambox,Vu+ etc.. all run near 99.9% the same

Have to say, wasn't until around 70 odd posts in on this thread where the bickering on this thread eased and became a little helpful.

That may have been because the company that makes them also make the Cloud iBox clones not Great for publicity, but for the Price i would class these as the Openbox of the Linux Enigma2 Range

I'm looking to get one of these boxes to replace an f5s and just after an easy to follow set up just like the threads for the openbox.

You need to follow the Drambox and Enigma2 even the Vu+ sections on here as all are relevant for this receiver too.

I've seen a couple of examples on the Web of this box having the look and feel of the Sly interface ie blue hd. Is this one of the supported formats. If so could I do the wifi connected and record one watch another with the setup I've described?

The BlueHD is just a skin unlike the mediocre closed source F5's of this world Enigma id highly customisable so you can get it how you want it to look, and yes BlueHD as well as RedHD can be installed

                          Again many thanks

Answered above also look out for other receivers of a similar type to hit the market shortly with better build quality and more than likely similar support or possible more

Symbol rate is 6.887 not 6887
Net ID is 5 figures, Frequency is (xxx.xxx) Symbol Rate (x.xxx)
