Starview 5 - firmware

I have got a new starview 5 but a scan is not even showing free to air channels, am I doing something wrong? please help

on my menu when i go into channel edit put in the default 0000 code the sort and move are in yellow nd will not let me sort or move channels any ideas cheers

You cant move channels on starview 4 & 5, you need to save channel data to ext hard drive or usb stick, then load them into channel editor on your pc.

Just want to say thanks to digital kaos. Got myself a Starview 5 and after fiddling about with it and with advice from here, finally got it working.

try a factory reset and try loading the firmware in again, from the downloads section, follow the tut..

just a quick question.
Once i put in the 1570 code and exit to say 511 (skysports 1 on my box) how long does it take for the channel to come up. When i did it before the screen was black but i didn't give it much time to come up, about 4 secs i think

EGP download / video files not deleting..

Epg does that for me sometimes on sv4 & 5 but no big issue really, not had that problem with recordings i use 8gig usb stick, try reformatting it make sure to do full format/fat32 through the pc.

yeah i did when i tried it. It didn't work. Then i reset the box and tried to download the firmware again but that stalled and bricked my box. Waiting for the replacement as i sent it back Monday.
I just wanted to know for next time.

Hi, am new to this website and a just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with the starview 5?? been thinking about getting one but before a do just wanted so feedback. Any comments would be appreciated

Has anyone had any problems today with channels not receiving any signal? I currently have no signal for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Channel 4 +1. There may also be others.

Have tried a reload, but it didn't help and when I press the SIG button it says UNLOCK.

Do I need to enter new codes or something?

Got new starview 5 usb II last week. Downloaded software onto my usb & loaded it onto the SV5. Initial problems but reread the sticky. Fat32d my USB and reloaded. Eventually the secret menu came up following multiple 1570 inputs. Now all works well.

ok so my sv 5 box finally arrived today and have been trawling these posts as have no idea what im doing. Initially tried using the v12 firmware as suggested by a fvriend but found out that doesnt work for sv5. have tried the new firmware and uploaded it fine, however when I run automatic scan it picks up no channels? I am selecting NTL as i am on virgin media, so any ideas what is wrong? Any help appreciated.... cheers!
