Hi satsmo just want to say thank you for all the hard work you have put in, in help us all out. The only question i have is that i have flashed two starview 2 the box with the v8.02 firware and have had no problems all works perfect. So do i need to now update them with this new 4.55 firware will i get any benifits from it all will they be ok running the v8.02 firmware. Thanks again

i have also used the other fix whats the difference? do we need to do this again with this fix or will everything be ok with the other fix.

this fix combines the previous fix with the logo so you only use the one file , so you can stay with the 8.02ee fix if you have already done so , but anyone updating from a previous image should use this one as its a straight flash into your box

this bin file is only for the sv2 known as THE BOX , it is not for any other model , so its not for the box pvr , and not for the starview 1 either. do not try using this on the wrong model or you may brick it

so this is for the box sv2 only and can be used no matter which image was in before

the correct cable to use is a 9 pin to 9 pin serial null modem crossover cable , and use a usb to serial adapter as well if you havent got a com port on your pc or lappy ( use both in that case ) , and use xp and not vista or any other os

V4.55 problems

Hi Can someone tell me what i've done wrong.
I flashed using 4.55 all went ok.
When i autosearched it only searched 24/24 tp's where it used to search 52/52.
Consequently only got about 1/2 the channels I used to have. Only about 1/2 of these channels work.
I entered the engineer page set emu to on and saved the key.
Is there anything else I need to do.

This now supersedes the last fix, (031208). This is all that's required to update The Box for the latest UK fix.

If you are using 8.02 then stick with it. 4.55 is just an easier way to flash for pre 4.52 versions.

Do a factory reset, scan again from the direct feed, i.e. no splitter if you are using one. Turn key emu back on after scan.
