People who work in the public sector are not highly paid as people think and it is a damn difficult job!!

No matter what job you do, I have a cracker of a job, and I come here for the info and to help get foreign sats, and dodgy cable software (2 years ago!!) ... does it matter why people come here,, only that they do!!

No and I agree that those who can work should. The problem e have in this country is that those who are classed 'disabled' and dont work. They would lose money to actually work.

Yes Doctors should do assessments I agree 100%

Lainie shouldnt be coming on here with the working for the DWP Telling us about all these people would should be working because they have this and they have that.

Each and every illness affects different people in different ways I would say. depending on what stage its at how severe it is or how advanced it is.

I never said some people werent swinging the lead and putting it on.

Now I help squaddies get the benefits they DESERVE, whether that be a DWP or DLA or ESA or whatever and I know the other side of the fence.

My wife works at CAB and also elsewhere and sees day in day out the crap alot of disabled people have to deal with from the dwp/atos etc

edit , why highlight beat one system or another in my post?

you didnt answer my question as to why you came on here.

yes and i too help hundreds of people who in my opinion deserve their benefit and i tell them what to do to appeal and hopefully win their appeals etc. i dont agree with everything the dwp does far from it. most of the people i have spoken to are absolutely lovely people and i bend over backwards to help them. however no one has a right so say oh im depressed for 20 yrs so i cant work. or im an alcoholic for 20 yrs just keep paying my benefit and keep me in rent free accommodation. theres people on here i have helped and won their cases so please stop the personal insult.

trust me its bloody hard work and no wonder so many staff want out.

the truth hurts for a few people.

im perfectly entitled to my opinion. im sure theres members on here from the police etc.

Isnt that what a forum is for - sharing info, opinions etc?

If you had a sly or v1rgin engineer on here telling you how to get free tv - would you complain? Would you say - mister high and mighty, we dont want your info??

            Come on---- Its a forum.

Are you trying to say that mental illness isn't real?

                        Bye bye.

Lainie you got it in one some people may be able to work with a certain condition but not all. Mental or physical disablement is different for each person, just because one person can work because of it or with it not all can.

This woman should have had a job then?

Police officers failed to carry out checks on a psychiatric patient who murdered a woman, which would have revealed that she had killed before, a report has found.

Nicola Edgington, 32, of Greenwich, virtually decapitated Sally Hodkin, 58, six years after killing her own mother.

BBC News - Killer Nicola Edgington: Officers 'failed to carry out checks'

Maybe in an old peoples home?

Mental illness is real, you really do need to read up on it.

to be fair to lainie thats using an extreme case to ram home a point you have no need to make. lainie quite clearly said she wasnt saying mental illness doesnt exist and that SOME people with a mental illness CAN work.
