and why not, a room is a room, just because it used to have a bed in it doesn't make it a bedroom forever. I know plenty of people who have moved their bathroom from downstairs to the upstairs, converted their old bathroom to a dining room - they don't dine in the bathroom any more. Throw a pool table, computer and TV into the room that used to hold a bed and it's a games room. *shrug* Otherwise every room in a house could be deemed a bedroom, since you can put a bed anywhere you wish.

The statement about receiving apension even if you have not contributed is incorrect. In fact you may have contributed but not enough and still not receive a pension.

Yes, but then you will be receiving benefits to top up your money.

If you have paid all your contributions up to retirement age, you are entitled to your full pension.
[and, in my humble opinion,also entitled to tell the Government to f**k off when they ask you to move into a smaller home in an area you dont like and dont want]

I dont think a pensioner that is lets say "loaded" (with cash), should get any help with anything at all regarding benefits same as I dont think any person that is younger that is also "loaded" that becomes jobless for some reason, I dont think they deserve to get any benefit help at all, but only as I say "if they are loaded and rich with cash" and quite obviously dont need any help ever in thier life, its a bit like the millionaires etc that can claim this benefit and that benefit just because the system says its ok, thats so wrong its unreal man.

If things like these were addressed properly then the poorest people on the low or lowest benefits and/or people working but getting minimum wages (whether they have payed into national insurance or not etc) could get the help they need like some extra money to at least turn the cooker on or buy 3 cans of beans instead of having no beans, no heating, no electricity, no food, no clothes, no money to travel anywhere, nothing really and just clinging onto life by thier fingernails, the whole system needs totally revampped, and I dont mean kick people that need help off benefits, I mean all these greedy Rich people whatever age they are, and also all these people that are screwing the system too and driving about with brand new DLA cars on FULL DLA etc when you can clearly see they are doing somersaults in thier gardens etc when they are meant to be sick and in bed etc.

The days of saying "ohh its great that Joe down the road is getting away with screwing the system and got an excellent job on the side too", those days are over, everyone I know are totally against all that and would report anyone they knew were openly doing that and I urge anyone that knows anybody doing likewise to report them too, cause they are also messing the whole system up for everyone else and now the bubble has burst for genuine needy people !, see here >>>> https://www.gov.uk/report-benefit-fraud

No Tulgey, I know exactly what I said and am saying and not getting confused at all, I hit the nail on the head with the simple fact that if your "Rich" and have no need for any extra cash at all "ever" and the person knows this etc, then they should do the reasonable thing and opt out of taking money from the social security fund so that people that cannot even afford to eat or heat etc never mind pay bedroom tax can Live, if these rich people are sitting there loaded and scraping the dregs off the bottom of the social security barrel then I dont think thats right at all, I never have.

Thats like saying next that prince charles should be down collecting his benefits/pension etc just because hes entitled to, and some of them do, I know that by the way !!!! Thats the ultimate scroungers !

we have no right in the dictatorship english government run UK that we live in thats run by the tories, they are nearly all tories in disguise to be honest, labour included, I think you said you prefer the BNP, good on ya man, I do too, but next year it will be SNP for me and hopefully the rest of scotland and england can then deal with all thier own stuff and we will deal with ours, I pray it works out that way before the day I die

and yes, of course anyone has the right to treatment in the nhs etc, its just a pity the english government didnt put the flood gates up many many decades ago to stop legal and illegal imigrants getting in and hogging our nhs now, and look at the nhs now, have a look in the accident and emergency rooms, theres more immigrants in them places than native white british people, and they wonder why the nhs is screwed up ? theres your answer, maybe if we follow up on the new rules they are "trying" to make work it would help a lot, and that means that you dont get into the uk without a hell of a lot of trouble, I will beleive that when I see it, . (even the nhs has its new plans already supposidly in place and working to try and stop foriegn people getting free treatment here, just the same as we dont get treated free in other countries either, Ive still to see the proof of profit of this working though as its very early days yet).

As for now, england is screwed with all that, it is only in a fraction of scotland, a very small fraction, but england, wow, different story, the ship is ready to sink man right before everyones eyes.

These are the ones who when they were paying their dues never had the luxury of working tax benefits, unemployment benefits etc. They worked hard and paid a percentage of their own money into a pension fund to enable them to have a good standard of living when they retired. Sure some of them are now millionaires but I'm sure they've paid more tax than the majority of us.

As governments try to reduce payments to those that are well off all that will happen is people will look at investing their money outside of pensions. Ultimately it will bite them in the bum as the Government won't make money on the back of those deposits to fund those who never got off their butts and worked hard. Where I work 8 out of 12 employees have already reduced their pension payments to a minimum as they think they won't benefit when they retire as their pension will be taken into consideration if they need home care etc.

I am a pensioner and I paid into a private pension and Brown the w@nker made it worthless when I went to take it out it was worth a quarter what was predicted because of him taxing dividends pension funds received in 2004 and then his action he took saving the banks and the people who borrowed to much which included the labour government .The Lib Con government is doing the same with very low interest rates so the ones like me who saved for they retirement have been kicked in the teeth with inflation higher than saving rates we are loosing are savings and all we get is idle barstewards who will not get off there arsses want to steel money from us and have for them selves to fund there idle lifestyle

I think the general idea is to keep the poor poor and the rich get ing richer at the end of the day. Keeps the peasants under control. Though I don't always agree with Bob, quite often really, I do have to question why I'm saving for my private pension that the government will tax me on, would like to rob me of and would eventually like to use as an excuse not to pay me my state pension because "I get too much". I'm forced to pay NI and tax for a pension, the same as everyone else and yet I know the goalposts will be moved before I retire. On top of that the interest rate for savers is absolute b0llox, yet the amount it costs for banks to borrow from the BOE is next to f'kall, but mortgage deal interest rates are high by comparison.

Seems like the only ones who win are the government and banks. If you aren't a millionaire, yer cked.

I think you guys know exactly what I mean but your trying to put a twist on it, .

I mean the super wealthy pensioners etc, I dont mean the ones like my own mother and father who worked hard and legally thier whole lifes and paid into the system for thierselves and "all of us", I dont mean that kind of person, I keep saying, I mean the ones that basically are super rich each if they started off with not even 2 pennies to rub together, that was then, this is now, the country has collapsed and everyone is desperately in need, well the poorest end of the scale are and the stupid english government are trying anything possible to find a way to claw money in, whether it be taking benefits and free things off the super rich pensioners or whatever, the government are trying to screw everyone, but the thing thats most sickening is the fact that its the same old same old same old thing going on now for decades and decades, like "Gaston" just said too, they are simply keeping the poor people desperately clinging onto life because they dont even have a spare single penny and are in huge debt too because of this, and at the other end of the scale the rich are still getting richer and richer, I dont care what age they are, if they dont need the money and never will, I.E - pretty much super rich, then no one should even be allowed one single penny in any type of benefits.

With all that help it would make probably billions or trillions of pounds of which the government could bring all the poorest needy people out of all the types of poverty you can imagine, and lets face facts, the rich people wouldnt even notice the difference because it would be like a drop of water in the ocean to them, thats the point I am putting across.

What they would say the super rich category is though I dont know, I dont know how they would measure that out, but I dont imagine it would be that difficult if someone was sitting with millions of pounds in the bank etc, sure, the people could start to shift thier money abroad etc, but I would also like to see a stop being put to that too unless the people were emigrating or something, there has to be a stop "Now" to this loophole, and anyway, as I said, why even move all your Rich money if you didnt even notice the drop in the ocean of things like taking the state pension, bus passes and free tv licence from you, its just sheer greed, thats all it is, and the majority of the government are all at it too, rich rich rich, there has to be a stop on everything and all the help focused on helping needy poor people out of poverty, we are very nearly living in a third world country if you go and look at the squaller a massive amount of people all over the UK are living in right now in super power and supposidly Rich Great Britain 2013 !

yes I know all the immigrants etc can jump the Q's Tulgey, and I dont wish for anyone to stop driving any cars, infact I want the english Government to stop taking about 90% of tax off the petrol and diesel (and let us be one of the cheapest places in the world for all our fuels including household), especially when its the UK's fuel, well mostly all Scotlands to get the fact correct.
