I though it was a disgrace what happened last night but its happened to players of other clubs in the past. I have to ask though why was Martin O'Neil never targeted like this why was Tommy Burns never targeted like this both RC managers of Celtic???

On that one McMav you would need to address the bigots involved !

Celtic fans chanting IRA songs. You can even hear it on the replay on sky sports. Wonder what fueled the young lad to do that to lennon.

Not condoning it though. He will get the jail no doubt about it.
Come on get a grip. What has songs that Celtic fans were singing (after Lennon was attacked) got to do with what's happened to Lennon.

God imagine if a Rangers manager would be attacked every time Rangers sing their songs (what uefa has taken action on again...). Nothing to do with this thread again, but again it always gets brought up by some.

Cold facts are. If Celtic were 20 points behind Rangers he would not be receiving letter bombs etc. And if Lennon wasn't an Irish Catholic he wouldn't be receiving death threats etc.

But surely they would have been just as bigoted towards them?

Personally I am not religeous I dont goto church I am a Rangers fan I have no time for religion at all look at all the hassle it causes eh.

I had a lot of time for Tommy Burns when he was Celtic manager he was level headed and seemed a Gent. I have no time for Lennon not because he is from NI or that he is an RC from Ni its that he lacks the class and dignity that Burn showed in his time in charge.

I am however not excusing what has happened to the man it disgusts me that he has had bullets and bombs in the post. Any person that does that to any player/manager needs to have their heads looked at.

McMav, your missing the fact that Lennon is not the only person who has been attacked as I've already pointed out.

McMav, I have no time for Ally McCoist but I'm certainly not going to launch attacks on the man over a football match, NO EXCUSES can justify the attacks absolutely NONE !

Indeed countless players have been attacked on the park in the past
Strachan while at aberdeen Ricksen Maxwell. dida some guy from Hibs I cant remember all by different supporters of different teams. Rangers players have had bullets inthe past also Was Lafferty sent his becase he was of Protestant religion from NI playing for Rangers? He has also had his car trashed a fair few times. Nothingkn like getting a bomb I'll agree but there are mentalist on both sides.

Nothing can excuse this form of abuse and to suggest different is to side with the f?ckwits who are involved, continual comments such as Lennon brings it on himself, Lennon made gestures, I hate Lennon but like so an so are all designed to excuse the scumbags who see fit to drag Scottish football into the gutter. Unequivocal condemnation from everyone who disagrees with the attacks, be they on Lennon, Lafferty, McBride is what is required. Subtle hints at the victim being somehow deserving are not helping the situation, time for everyone interested in Scottish football to stand up and be counted.

Dont thik I've said he deserved it all I've said he is not alone ing threats though sending someone a bomb takes it to a whole new level. Thankfully Plod has made some arrests and I hope they are the right people. Football does not need incidents like this.
