thanx for all the replies guys a good debate going on here for my two bobs worth i think rangers should be told to take the union jack down from ibrox and celtic told to take down the tri colour. At least its a start. The scottish government should start hammering secterian behaviour and start an education system throughout the primary schools. If i was mr lennon i would walk away- i would never put my family through this sh*t for the sake of what is after all just a job.

for what its worth i agree with you on that but by your tone i dont think we will agree on a lot going forward mate

from my perspective if rangers want to fly union flags and be the quinessential british club fair play, i would hope they stop the secterian singing as i would hope we would stop any pro IRA singing as there is no place for it.

I will say though that any rangers fan who even tries to begin with aye but he brings it on himself should be ashamed of themselves... a paedo or murderer can expect such abuse not a football manager who is being picked on for secterian reasons.

John, I think that is a great idea and if both clubs would be willing to do that and give an inch what a start that would be? It's just a crying shame that the clubs should have to do this, as both flags represent so much of what the clubs stand for/or their history? I don't know if you know, but the SFA in the 50's tried to get Celtic to take down the tricolor over Parkhead. Of course it was met with hostility at the time, but if both clubs were asked (or even better agreed off their own bat) what a message to send out.

I genuinly dont think thats the problem, and if anything it would be worse can you imagine 5 asides at PE on a monday morning after an old firm game ?

i think catholic schools are fine as are non denom schools.. its more of a education at home that needs to change... also bottom line the people involved need to look at themselves.. i have plenty of rangers fans mates that id happily meet for a pint after the game... its the ones who carry it on after 90mins and post about lennon should get done in and starting facebook campaigns congratulating the guy at tynecastle as well as celtic fans doing similar with nacho novo.... they are headcases and a change to the schooling system wont change that IMO...

I disagree it gets to fester and be bred in from the age of five to seventeen when the rejoin eachother. This only happens to the minority but being together in the formative years would IMO be a great start.

agreed mate im born and bred in glasgow 40 years so i know a bit of whats going on and theres certain things that fuel the sectarianism and create it. Maybe having one school system may help, who knows but one thing i do know what causes enormous harm is the old youre a protestant so you support rangers or youre a catholic so you support celtic. It carries on through the generations from family to family.

after all, but as another poster said no other man in the history of scottish football has been so hated,and if your
happy to have that man in charge of your club then that is fine by me, what you dont seem to grasp here is that is not a religious thing for the vast majority of scottish football fans who don't like Lennon its just that they don't like the way he behaves and the things he says,without a word of a lie i have never met or spoken to anyone outside of Celtic fans who have a good word to say about him

nothing wrong with being british or feeling british, but coming on forums and calling folk neds you dont know on the other hand, is silly really..
the guy is clearly not a ned.. ps your own manager came out and admitted he sang certain songs he shouldnt, granted it may have been years ago and maybe when lennon reaches smiths age he may regret certain things as well... but lets be honest he is not in anyway shape or form a ned, and to use the no other manager has suffered it infers its his own fault and for that you should really have a think to yourself.
