I have no allegiances to any English club so I think I can say this with a completely neutral hat on. I will keep out Rangers and Celtic as well as it is impossible to compare.

It all depends on how you "define" a big club. IMHO this is how I see it.

The biggest club in terms of "domestic" success in England is Man Utd.

The biggest support base in the UK and probably world wide (for a UK team) is Man Utd.

The best team I have personally ever seen from the UK is Liverpool. At their best they would wipe the floor with any other UK side in my lifetime. I have seen far better sides from Spain, Italy, Germany and Holland though.

Best player in the UK couldn`t separate Best and Dalglish - and yes I am old enough to have seen them both. IMHO they were both the best player in the world in their day. Again though seen players that were superior in other leagues.

Best manager in UK - lots of excellent managers but Ferguson is genius for me.

Arsenal are a very big club.

Chelsea and Man City are not big clubs although history may well change that.

You may be able to buy success but you cant buy history - well at least not in the short term.

A good honest unbiased opinion I don't agree with all you said but i agree with a lot.

                        THE TRUTH
                        The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

the top 4 still remains at the moment, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool.

I understand Liverpool are going through a rough patch at the moment, But we will be right up there with united and chelsea next season, But I think Arsenal will start to fade and you'll see city come on the scene.

                          Regards.

If anyone considers Chelsea to be a big club then the answer is yes money can turn a large club into a big one. I would rate Chelsea as a big club in today's game but let's be honest they would be nowhere but for the millions pumped into the club. The club however will still carry that debt should Abramovich jump ship and the same can be said for City. The bigger more sustainable clubs like Arsenal, Utd, Liverpool can live with today's market without the input of rich toy boys so those 3 for me have the longevity with regards to big clubs.
