Chelsea sign midfielder Yossi Benayoun from Liverpool
Premier League champions Chelsea have signed Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun on a three-year deal.
The Israeli, 30, who had a contract tying him to Anfield until 2013, has been signed after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed transfer fee.
Benayoun told Chelsea's website: "I am very excited to come to a club like Chelsea, it is a big club and I think it is a dream for every player."
Benayoun joined from West Ham in 2007 and scored 29 goals in 134 games.
The Israeli's arrival follows the departure from Stamford Bridge of midfielders Michael Ballack and Joe Cole.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said: "We are happy to have this new player. Yossi has a lot of quality in midfield and can play in lots of positions. I like his behaviour on the pitch and he will do a great job for us next season."
A Liverpool spokesman said: "Yossi's departure was agreed between the player and Rafael Benitez a number of weeks ago. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes him well for the future."
Benayoun came to England in 2005 when he joined West Ham from Spanish club Racing Santander.

New Barcelona president Sandro Rosell is adamant the club will not pay over the odds for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
The Spanish champions are trying to bring Fabregas back to Camp Nou and have already seen one offer rejected by the Gunners.
Arsenal remain determined to hang on to their skipper and Fabregas has now suggested he could stay at Emirates Stadium after previously expressing a wish to rejoin his first club.
Barca are not giving up their pursuit of the 23-year-old but Rosell, who has succeeded Joan Laporta as president, will not break the bank to sign the Spain international.
Won't lose our heads
"We won't pay an unjustified sum," said Rosell. "We won't lose our heads over this business."
The club's vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has also reiterated Barca's desire to bring in a player who is currently preparing for Spain's World Cup quarter-final against Paraguay on Saturday.
Bartomeu said: "Our objective is for him to become a Barcelona player this summer."
Meanwhile, Barcelona have appointed former goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta as their new sporting director to replace Txiki Begiristain, who stepped down earlier this week.
Zubizarreta made over 300 appearances for Barca between 1986 and 1994 and also played 126 times for Spain in an illustrious career.
There are also roles for Narcis Julia, Albert Puig and former player Guillermo Amor, who will all work alongside Zubizarreta and the new board to strengthen the playing squad.

Sunderland have completed their third signing of the summer after landing Egypt international Ahmed Al-Muhammadi on a season-long loan.

He began his career with hometown club Ghazl El-Mehalla, making his first-team debut for the Farmers aged just 17 before moving to Cairo-based ENPPI in 2006.
Delighted
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has expressed his delighted at capturing the Egypt international, stating he has been a long-term target for the club.
"We're delighted to get the deal done," said Bruce. "Ahmed is a player we've been aware of for a long time and we know exactly what he will bring to the squad.
"His pace and direct style will be an asset to us and give the team an extra dimension on the right-hand side.
"At only 22 he is already an experienced international, which will serve him well as he adjusts to life in the Premier League.
"I expect it will take him time to settle but Ahmed is a player who can have a big impact in this division and we welcome him to the club."

Skysports.com understands Blackpool are considering a surprise move for former Newcastle star Nicky Butt.
Butt is currently considering his options after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season following the expiration of his contract.
It has been reported the 35-year-old is considering hanging up his boots and moving into coaching, but Blackpool are hoping to lure him to Bloomfield Road.
Ipswich and Preston have both been credited with an interest in the former Manchester United midfielder and now Blackpool are keen to land the ex-England international.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is looking to bolster his squad and he sees Butt's experience as a key addition to his side as they plan for life in the Premier League next term.
Butt is expected to make a decision on his future soon, but he could be tempted to have one last swansong in the Premier League if Blackpool follow up their interest.
