Update:

I did the whole modmii again from Wilbrand through to configuring USBloader, and everything inbetween. HBC is on IOS61 and I can't seem to change that. I've reinstalled it countless times to the same result. There's no option I can see to change the ISO.

When I load HackMii it says:

HackMii installer v1.0 (c) 2007-2012 Team Twiizzers

The test results are in:

Using IOS versions: Installer: 61, HBC: 61

The Homebrew Channel: Can be installed
BootMii: Can be installed

Neogamma R9 b56 still doesn't work using d2x56v8final (249)

Would downgrading to 4.2E help? Not for any other reason other than that staying on 4.3E, I'm not modifying any system files and while I'm doing the whole mod, it's leaving the system intact as it was before the mod. Just a thought. Call me stupid if I'm wrong. I can take it!

First off are you using a new set of files downloaded by modmii everytime you use it....This is the only way to rule out a corrupt file being installed over and over again. At the end of the modmii tutorial it says if hbc is upside down our not on ios 58 please reinstall. And as far as downgrading there should be no need as modmii usually downloads everything if you tell it you want a full softmod which is also used to remove darkcorp safely. Is the wii still recognising original discs.

It is, yes. Original discs are fine. But modmii says that if you choose to finish up with the same system (i.e 4.3E) as you started with, no system files will be downloaded. That was where my idea of downgrading came from; to force it to download new system files maybe. I'm just guessing to be honest.

Syscheck is bolloxed mate.....Can't be any politer...Darkcorp is still installed and mios is v4 instead of v10. Darkcorp has maxed out ios 58...If you give me a chance I'll pm you with some instructions and files for manual removal of darkcorp. After removal you can then run syscheck in modmii to update any outdated ios installed in order to remove darkcorp. I'll see if I can find you a v10 mios wad as well.
Edit you only need updated mios if you use gamecube games...do you need it?????

Ha. Didn't want you thinking I was trying to take liberties. I know a bit about Linux thanks to Android and after playing around with ubuntu on my ps3, but not nearly enough. I've written it off for now in the hope that maybe one day Nagra3 will be exploited, but I doubt it. It's an old 500 anyway do I'd probably be out of luck if it ever did happen.

You do know that discs can be launched perfectly from usb loader gx and you can still use all the different cios with them same as an hdd, and it's supposed to go smoothly when following proper instructions

After the hardmod broke I did a quick google around and found out about Darkcorp & it looked easy & meant I could still launch from the disc channel. More for my daughter's benefit than anything. But it looked so easy I thought why not. Then obviously that threw everything out & now I'm getting read errors, & suddenly launching from the disc channel isn't important at all any more.

Whack everything on an hdd set priiloader to autoboot to usbloader gx or whatever your prefered loader is and watch her little face light up when she switches on the wii and is confronted with all the front covers of her games and just has to click one.

Perfect. Well, almost. It's all been restored and re-softmodded. Darkcorp is gone and all USB loaders I have tried work fine, and hbc is on IOS58. Unfortunately, Neogamma still doesn't want to play, but I can live with that...just need to install a lot of the games I ONLY have on disc to my hdd and set up Priiloader to boot with a loader rather than the system menu.

Thank you for all your help. Really, it would've taken me weeks to get back to having a stable system and a clear view of what and where everything is, and how to set it up for future use. Honestly can't thank you enough.

Your welcome, have you tried to launch a disc from one of the other loaders, if that works then it is just a bad file for neogamma. Remember you need the hacks.ini file on the root of the sd when booting into priiloader for installing hacks and if you get a black screen after trying to install system hack don't panic it happens a lot and is an easy fix....
