If the 3 games on the 16GB USB stick work then you're getting near the limit of that stick buy yourself a mains powered external USB drive and you can put as many games as the drive will take.

Note: Not all USB drives are compatible check the lists.

Just as an extra check you could post a sysCheck as instructed just to check nothing else is missing and we know which Wii version you're using.

I'll be honest it's not a feature about the other loaders I've needed to use before, but now I can't find an option in any of them for it. As soon as I run a loader, it tries to mount a USB device, times out & exits. It's the same with Wiiflow, CFG loader & USB loader GX. Neogamma is the only 1 I can see that gives me the option. Am I missing a trick?

The new usb loader gx 3.0 will open without a usb device present, I didn't mention this as I thought you had an hdd set up when you said about transferring the games over. Sorry m8. If you have a 4gb usb stick lying about format it to wbfs for the time being and stick in port 0 (the one nearest the edge of the wii) and see if it recognises it. Usb sticks are not very reliable do it may not be recognised.

It's ok, I've got a drive I can connect, it's just not a permanent fixture as its an old internal IDE adapted to USB (i.e. No caddy) Its only 160GB so it's not worth caddying. I've got a spare external terrabyte as well but it's got loads of stuff on it that I need to relocate first.

So from within USB loader GX 3.0 I can choose to load from DVD? Sorry, I would try it myself to save asking, but I'm at work again.

yes you can load a dvd from within all versions of gx push the disc icon in the top right corner and as far as your 160gb hdd goes, it's about a fiver or so for a caddy and it will hold about 70 games...You see when you add a game to an hdd it is not 4.37gb as it is on a dvd, all the useless zero's are removed (scrubbed) that have been added to fill the dvd and most games are around 2gb obviously cod and the likes are nearer 4gb but a lot of kids games are under 2 so it evens out to around 2gb average

Just realised what you said about gx not loading without hdd...You said you were waiting on it counting for hdd to be connected...If you press "B" that will stop the count and launch gx then as I said disc is on top right...not sure if this will work on 2.3 as I haven't tried it but it does work on 3.0

It doesn't work on 2.3. Tried pressing everything but it just keeps counting down from 20. Didn't realise there was a version 3.0 before you mentioned it. I'll give that a go later when I get home.

I've never known GX try to mount the USB device the Mount button/icon is on the top right which I've never bothered clicking. It sometimes starts the countdown if I try to start GX before the drive has got spinning but it never counts the full 19 seconds.

USB Loader GX v3.0 has been out for well over a month.

There is also USB Loader GX Easy Installer (latest) the second one in the list. Its USBLoaderGX_Installer_v1.8.exe which you run from Windows with the SD card inserted in the computer. It will write all the relevant v3.0 files in the correct folders on the SD card. I have mensioned this is other threads because the last version of this exe kept on bringing up a 4041 error can't access server, this bug is fixed.

Thanks for that Keith. I think it's only trying to mount because there is nothing there to mount at the moment maybe. As HH said, with a usb device connected, older versions should load straight into the user interface. I'm guessing you have a drive permanently attached to port 0. In the GX 3.0 changelog it actually states that it now loads into the interface whether there is a drive attached or not. Maybe the actual mounting now comes afterwards.

I did notice your posts (and other people's) regarding the 4041 server errors with the easy installer & it made me wary about using that method, but now I know it's fixed I'll most likely do it that way, so thanks for the info.

If you plan to use emu nand do not download gx 3.0 it is throwing the old errors from 2.3 before they fixed it. I've just installed it to test disc launching without hdd which works perfectly but the emu is at least 3 steps back so it's now been uninstalled and I'm back to 2.3 until I can sort it out

If I don't know what emu nand is...would that imply that I don't plan to use it? . Sorry, always learning!

I think the emu nand allows you to save the save games to the drive rather than the Wii memory. I recall asking about this a long time ago perhaps HH can ellaborate?

Oh ok. Well as long as game saves can be saved somewhere that should be ok. Although I'm sure you'll tell me the advantages of emu nand & then I'll be convinced I can't live without it!

Anyway, it's all working now. Games are booting from disc in Neogamma & GX. The problem?... The discs. Any games I've got that are on DVD-Rs seem to be working, but newer ones that are on DVD+Rs give me the error code. I would have probably noticed before, but all the discs I've got used to work perfect on the hardmod, so I wrote off the discs as being the problem. Anyway, I'm eventually going to caddy up my hdd & install them all & use Priiloader to boot into GX by default.

I did tell you ages ago they had to be on dvd-r preferably verbatim. Emu on gx is coming along nicely and is now a lot more than just game saves, but you are correct in thinking if you don't know what it does you don't need it. Once you start to run out of space for game saves on your wii give me a shout and we can sort it out, but unless you intend to use wiiware or add your own tickets then it's not really necessary but is a huge advantage if you experiment a bit. It also allows you to add channels without the risk of bricking your real wii nand but leave that to me for now. I will always post tried and tested working setups for everybody once I have tested them myself and can be reasonably confident they won't cause any bricks if instructions are followed.
