ok, I have the problem with GX Loader not having the right IOS. I couldn't get the wad working, Homebrew ran ok but no icons came up, shall try again now and shall browse this (great) forum some more..

ref the WAD, do I just copy that to a blank sd card, insert into wii, run Homebrew?

if any kind hearted souls get the chance to review my sys report, it is below.. sorry to ask so soon but I am tired after dismantling laptop for 3 hours after inserting sd card into optical drive.

        Thanks, Pete

          Welcome to DK.

Yes you have 17 stubs in that report that need to be fixed. Now most of these IOS's are available in the download section. I would say your best way now you have a sysCheck.csv file from that sysCheck is download ModMii and run that from Windows. From the main menu type in SU (SysCheck Update) and download all the update wads needed from the COPY_TO_SD sub folder and add them to your SD card. Run Homebrew and install IOS236-v5-Mod first then install the other wads with MMM.

Now ModMii doesn't add all the d2x v8.0 wads so download them d2x v8 final wad pack and add them to the wad folder on the SD card.

Homebrew ran ok but no icons came up thats because there are no Wii apps in the apps folder on the SD card.

If you don't like messing about with the SD card in your laptop, get yourself an USB SD card adaptor.

After your installed all the wads run sysCheck and posty a new report.

The main ones that are missing are Full cIOS Wad Pack d2x v8 is added to these. As I said you need to install IOS236-v5-Mod from ModMii first then install the rest.

When its done you should have wads that look like these.

IOS202[60] (rev 65535, Info: hermesrodries-v6): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS222[38] (rev 4, Info: hermes-v4.0): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS223[38] (rev 4, Info: hermes-v4.0): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS224[57] (rev 65535, Info: hermesrodries-v6): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS236 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access
IOS245[37] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS246[38] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access
IOS247[53] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS248[55] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS249[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS251[58] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

That should take care of 12 of the stubs.

ok, struggling a bit here. cannot install any wads (just tried another batch of 11 and none completed) have tried MMM and WAD Mgr 1.7

are there any clues in the sys file as to what the problem might be (aside from end-user competence)?

trying direct from sd - into mmm - then Wad Manager option

                  thanks

You must run ModMii with the SU option and your sysCheck.csv. That will make a IOS236-v5-Mod folder in the apps folder which you run from Homebrew first.

After you have installed IOS36 in IOS236 with IOS236-v5-Mod from Homebrew not MMM you can come back out and run another sysCheck it will now show

IOS236 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access

Then you use MMM to install all the other wads in the wad folder.

The WAD Manger 1.5 & 1.7 never work for me, MMM works everytime. Wait for the message Installed OK after each wad is installed.

well, if I had been sitting on a tree at the time, I would have fallen out of it... this now works!

I just need to work how to set the sd card as the cfg loader default and maybe try to fix usb drive issue - although happy to stay with sd card

thanks Keith, kind of you to go out of your way to help

That sysCheck look ok you have the correct wads installed.

I see you have Priiloader installed thats something I forgot to mention with sorting out which wads you needed to install. I assume you have blocked online and disc updates? I get rid of the annoying safety 'A' prompt on startup as well.

Have you install any Forwarders so you have the USB Loaders on the Wii menu rather than running Homebrew just to run a USB Loader?

USB Loader GX Forwarder put USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad in the wad folder on the SD card and install it with MMM. Just scroll down all the wads and press the + button on that wad name, that will put a green tick next to it. Press 'A' then 'A' on the next screen to install wait for the Installed OK message.

Now you talking about CFG USB Loader? You don't have to set anything up to use any USB Loader providing the USB drive is formatted correctly and the games have been added correctly.

Personally I always use USB Loader GX because there are more cracks for games and its easy to change the game wads for specific games.

Your next job is to find a compatible mains powered external USB drive to add your games onto. If you need to know how to add games to a drive this has been talked about many times on here if you search, or ask.

yeah thankfully the reformat of the USB drive worked and all is ok now on both SD and USB.

the Priiloader has blocked online and disc updates, thanks for the tip about the safety prompt, I shall try that.

the cfg loader is on the start menu and the Homebrew channel - did try GX originally but obviously it didn't work with stubbed wads.

I found the ModMii wizard to be fantastic - worked a treat - even with having Homebrew already set up. I took a bit of a risk and just installed all of the wads that came with it and it was fine, before installing d2x v8. As you may have guessed earlier I was delayed by trying to install IOS236-v5-Mod via MMM and not ModMii (wasn't ignoring your instruction, just a mistake by being on autopilot)

next plan is to set up the homebrew browser

                              thanks again, Pete

I have homebrew browser but I don't use it that much, you can download a few apps. Just add it to the apps folder on the SD card.

You can add a few games to the SD card as well, Mahjongg Wii and Rokoban (Sokoban) are quite good.
