Hi all, just going to have a crack at softmodding the nippers wii its a white version running 4.2e all i want is to play backup games not from usb just dvd, so which is the easiest method of doing this?

DellBoy this tutorial is for you m8, you can run DVD's via the ULoader menu ok.

PLEASE HELP. i installed boot.elf no problem and once in homebrew everyhting was going fine till step 6 of method a. so i did as instructed and started with method b. when it comes to removing ios 222,223 etc none of those wads were present (infact ios257 is the only 3 digit wad i have).so when i go into wad manager to install them they show as empty wads and i get error! (ret = -1). i have reformatted my sd card with no change of results and even tried to load them via a usb storage device. ios07-64-v6687 wad is the only one that loads (and shows a size of 1.07mb, all the others show 0.0mb). pls help me here as when i open uloader it gives me a fault msg ios222 and ios223 required and then quits.

EDITk i found the problem. macbook pro shows wad files as unzipped but they are actually still compressed. downloaded zip file onto pc and unzipped to usb and installed the wads no problem!!

unfortunately now i get ERROR usb device disconnected in uloader. have tried unplugging both usb and sd card and reconnecting but no results.

So dug an old hdd and caddy out and works a treat

I read somewhere that Mario and Sonic at the winter olympics can brick your Wii if you don?t patch it with Brickblocker. Could that happen with this softmod? If so what games needs to be patched?

I will only use USB HDD and no network, could it happen anyway?

i patch all games only takes 10 seconds,if you have preloader installed updates should not be a problem.but why take the risk for a 10 second patch

can anyone help me with tiger woods 2010. i start it in uloader from my hdd and it flashes the ea sports logo briefly and then just goes blank. i have a black wii which i soft modded with dell_xps guide and updated my uloader to 1.6. not sure what else to do

do i have to leave the sd card in ?
is it right that i can now play dvds on my wii (if so how)

hi you need mplayer ce 0.75 put that in apps folder and run through homebrew channel.MPlayer CE cIOS Installer put that in apps folder run through hb channel , internet connection needed for this.MPlayer CE Forwarder channel put in wad folder and install with wad manager,and you should be up and running,all files are posted in wii downloads good luck sd card i always leave mine in.

Got the files off banerbomb ready to go on the sd card
Just a slight query, the guide says to follow the bannerbomb instructions then go to to ades blog ades blog then says I need the following installed

HOWTO: Install The Homebrew Channel, DVDx and Bootmii Ade's Softmodding Wii blog

dvdx and bootmii and to download some more packs

Just wanna clear that up first really....if this makes no sense .....apologies...aint tried the process as yet

What happens if I try to install everything from the beginning again? Let?s say if I made one of the steps incorrect or even missed a step.

Can I delete uLoader and HBC and restart all over or will I brick the Wii ? Is it to any use?
