Wow glad i found this place. Years ago I programed all the neighbors DTV with no problem. However yesterday I bought the son a Wii and as usual I cant wait to be cheap and hack it. I am guessing that the new ones come with this 4.2 ver. not asking for help yet but I'm sure i'll need it one day. Any way this is a great thread.

Alright, I've tried this tutorial out twice now and I'm still running into the same error. I'm more than certain that I followed the instructions properly as I encountered no issues or likely, so I'm dismissing that theory for now.

Now, whenever I try booting up a game through uLoader, it gives me a DVD Error -2. Now, abe's site mentions that 'D3-2' drives can't run burned dvd's or that it's an outdated dvdx version.
The dvdx version I got was the one in the hackmii package obtained from their site, so I'm assuming it's up to date.

Is there any work-around to this, or am fudging something up? Any feedback or solutions are well appreciated.

      Thanks in advance / R.

Go into the Wii settings, channels, and delete it m8, simples.

              I believe they're.. +R, I could be mistaken.
This is not a black wii, it's an ordinary white one.
As for the cIOS's.. Uhh, I did all of those mentioned on the abewii's site. Did I miss any?

Also, do I have to do something with the iso before I burn it? I noticed some iso fix on some site, figuring I might have missed that before I burned the game.

              Thanks again.

Aww crap, turns out they are indeed -R's and I just tried with another game (Mario Galaxy) and it still gives me the same error. Any clues what's wrong?
My uLoader says cIOS222(3)? when I enter dvd mode - Is that what's causing this error?

Ok dokey what loader do you have installed, install this one m8, it's the latest uloader.
See if this works for ya, it's a wad file so just replace it with the one you used earlier ok.

dont forget dell, uloader needs to be on the SDCARD in /apps/uloader for that loader wad to work.

I would go back to the start m8 and install everything from scratch, I'm thinking you have missed a step.

Well, I've rechecked everything and tried out several other dvd booters from other guides that feature the very same steps, and they all come with some read error, so I'm going to go ahead and assume that my Wii features on of those drives that can not read burned discs.

Is there any way around this other than booting through USB?

Are you using a writer in a laptop/notebook by any chance?
If so try burning a game in another drive m8.
When did you buy your Wii?

                                Not using a laptop, no.
I just recently got this wii. I reformated one of my extern HDD's to that format that's required for uLoader and it's working perfectly well. I guess I'll just have to stick with this process then, as I doubt I'll ever get it to work disc-wise.

                                Thanks for all your help.
