Is it only under these conditions that the priiloader hacks are effective? ie: If I don't force the Wii to first boot priiloader in this way, the DVD may force the Wii to ask for update?
setting preloader to boot to system menu is ok preloader still works in the background

I actually went to install an older version of preloader last night, but it threw up an error about ES_DIverify

Are there any additional steps after running through the tutorial on page one to patch ES_DIverify?
sounds like you didnt install the patched ios70,look in the wad folder of the 4.2 pack from the first page and install that with wad manager

Just confirming that version of preloader worked a treat!

Have managed to get wii motion plus working as well on red steel 2, using the alternative .dol trick.

Loving this, thanks guys again for the brilliant tutorial!

you need to start it with ios223
also your ios223 needs to be installed as 37 merged with 38

Cheers ck-ok, but I'm not sure I put my question across properly. If you install priiloader does that automatically mean it will run in the background when you boot up the Wii or does it only run when you invoke the priiloader menu by pressing 'reset' as the Wii boots up?

edit: I've just double checked the settings and see that priiloader is set to boot to system menu by default, so I think it's fair to assume that it always boots up when starting the Wii and follows on into the system menu. That would also explain why my NTFS cISO is running on my PAL Wii.
