Your supposed to backup your NAND before you install anything.
Now this NAND backup is very strange because when you install HBC you install it then you install BootMii then you Prepare the SD card with the BootMii folder then you can save you NAND through BootMii. Well if your saving the NAND your saving HBC and BootMii so it won't be the factory default will it?
Through BootMii but you MUST have the [BootMii] folder on the SD card else you won't see the BootMii icons thats what the Prepare SD card does. If the Wii gets bricked for what ever reason you need to install PriiLoader so you can put back the original NAND thats the first thing you install after HBC. You can access PriiLoader by turning on the Wii and pressing the Rest button then select BootMii.
